29°F, 17 mph wind to to the south
Elevated box blind with Mr Heater Portable Buddy

I was hoping the temp would drop like it did, unfortunately very windy. Maybe I'll get lucky. Won't be able to come back out until after Christmas.

Area 2
37° 18mph wind
28 nosler

Set my brother up where I killed an 8pt last year, and then set up about 250 yards past him. He saw some does at first light. I haven’t seen anything yet. Hopefully the bucks start moving.
In my saddle, about 20ft up. Trying not to get blown out of the tree

Me too man. Me too.

I have been scouting and hunting really hard. I’m wondering when Mother Nature will throw a bone at me after all this work is done

I’ve taken a couple does and seen plenty on the creek at the end of North 3 trail on the south tract. There is (or at least the past several years) an automatic feeder not far across the creek on the private land. Multiple deer trails leading back and forth across that creek, you can probably find the gum tree that I climbed to intercept those deer. Good luck in those “mountains!”

Late, multiday report, as our place is off the grid, only communication is texts when in an elevated blind. Hunted in far South Texas (Hebbronville area). Temps were in the upper 80’s to low 90’s each day, absolutely miserable, no wind, yet we saw tons of animals. Brought out a doe and Management 10 point, 2 javelina (bang, shuck, bang) and 4 turkeys. One I stoned at 110 yards with a .22 Magnum, two others with a single shot (12 gauge). Amazing hunt in spite of about the worst conditions imaginable for mid-December. Saw some absolutely beautiful bucks, even though the rut is late. Almost every doe we saw (dozens upon dozens) all had fawns with them and one we shot was still lactating.

Grateful to my two buddies for the invite, and all the work keeping feeders going and upgrading blinds all year. Now I can relax and be choosy on my MS hunts.

“2 javelina’s”

Do you eat them?
I’ve had people tell me they’re very good, had other people tell me they stink so bad they wouldn’t even try to clean them.

Your camp must have great plumbing. If I chased a bowl of chili with cinnamon rolls it would look like christmas vacation from
