You gotta bring 2 guns for that situation. One propped on each side. My old man used to do that in one of his stands. He had string tied to the roof near each side and a loop at the bottom that he put around the scope on each rifle. Was completely hands-free. Rifle would balance on window with the string holding it up. Shoot righty or lefty really quick.

That's my philosophy too. That's why we make our stands as comfortable as we can, so it doesn't feel like a chore to sit up there all day even when nothing is happening.

I’ve carried two rifles a few times. I hunt a T intersection a good bit. It’s got long lanes in CRP. Sometimes you only have a few seconds.

I’m at work, but they are chasing in Winn Parish. I’ll miss most of it.

Lawd. Here in south ms where im at chasing wont start til end of december.

Generally our rut occurs between Nov 20th and Dec 10th. Just depends on the moon phase and fronts.
I’m hoping to get up to the lease Monday and Tuesday. I’ll head to the hill country Wednesday afternoon.

I'm hunting a food plot with my Remington .30-06. First hunt with it this season hoping for better success on this particular field than I had with my .45-70.
I managed to leave my flashlight at the house. If any action happens late in the hunt, it might be a long night. I think I'm one of the most unorganized deer hunters. It seems like I consistently forget one thing before I head out each time.

When I was in Missouri, I climbed up into a tree, saddle hunting so hanging sticks and platform, pulled my bow up, got situated, went to put my release on… no release. Broke everything down and went drink beer that evening lol
Same public as this morning, but changed locations. Didn’t see anything this morning. Hunting a hardwood funnel between some cutover and a lake. Had a little yearling come straight to me on my walk in. Got to about 10 yards or so before spotting me and easing off.

That really sucks. You probably chose correctly to call it at that point.
I didn't see anything so the lack of flashlight was a non-issue. I ended up picking up Domino's pizza for the family on the way home. Hopefully deer like the smell of Domino's now that it is ingrained into my hunting clothes from the ride home.
