Good luck. 70 degrees inside for me this morning but the wind is supposed to shift this afternoon and I’m planning on making my first sit of the year this evening.

Last hunt of the week. Just shot a doe. Sver 1.75 pass through. No shooter bucks this week but was an awesome time up here. Looking forward to rifle to shoot the monsters we’ve been seeing on camera.

Congrats .

I started last weekend out thinking bucks only for a couple weeks, but I’m almost out of meat so I shot a doe Tuesday morning. I underestimated how quartered she was and shot a little far forward. Broadhead hung in off shoulder and I didn’t get pass through. I hate seeing an arrow run off in the woods. I let her sit for an hour and was pretty wound up the whole time thinking I shot high and forward and might lose her.

Blood was tough to come by and she ran 150 yards into some really nasty stuff, but I took my time tracking and was able to find her. Shot wound up being fine and clipped both lungs - just no pass through so tough trailing. Felt great walking up on her. Major relief.

I also bought a new bow this year for the first time in 13 years so I’m jacked to have meat in the freezer and to have the first deer with the new bow work out well. Can’t wait for the weather to change this weekend.

Bowhunting is hard.

Bow hunting is hard. What made this kill special was I bought this bow used. I tuned it completely by myself. New strings, dloop, peep, timed it, and paper tuned it. Also did my own arrows but been doing that for years.

That is awesome. I've done my own arrows, but I've never totally timed and tuned my own bow. It's always been with the help of a friend or a pro that has a press/knows what they're doing. Congrats again on the kill .
