Area 6 public
26° NE wind
Mathews phase 4
Iron will 125
Sitka fanatic bibs and jacket

Say what you want about Sitka, but it keeps me warm in this type of weather. In my saddle, in the area I had 3 encounters with the same buck. I planned on coming Friday morning before work, but ended up sleeping in. Haven’t been in here since Thursday evening. Hopefully this weather gets him on his feet.

Decided to go to work and get a few things done before the snow storm hits. As expected, buck walked in front of my tree at 6:50am.

Happened to me earlier this season. Hunted a week straight, went back to work the weekend and had a buck come by at 7:30am. I get to work around 3:45pm and I’m telling my coworker about it, and get a Tactacam notification. Either the same buck, or a different nice buck, is chasing a doe in front of my camera. I like cameras because they can let you know what’s in the area, but it kills me when that happens lol
These pictures are screenshots from the videos so they’re blurry, but it’s a good 8, or 2 different good 8’s.

Go get them fellas. You would think they would be moving today looking for food to get by for the next few days.

Anyone making a snow hunt tomorrow? Really thinking about it since I'm starting to finally see fresh scrapes and buck movement.

Nah. I would have to leave tonight to go to MS and I would probably be stuck there until Thursday.

I'll spend it with the kids. Brought the 4 wheeler home yesterday to go ride around.

Hell yeah. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. My standards are dropping tomorrow from a big buck, to a decent buck. Painting the snow red in Louisiana with my bow would very likely be a once in a lifetime event for me.

I killed a buck in the snow of ‘17. Red blood on snow, on palmettos. It was pretty awesome.

I’ll probably sit back and play with the kids this time.

I’m not braving the roads to get to a spot to hunt. If Sparty JR was not sick I might sleep in the truck somewhere tonight. lol

That was my plan for tomorrow night, but my buddy has a camp close to where I hunt and he texted me and told me to go stay there if I need to. Definitely going to take him up on that.

I killed one in bama in the flurries years ago, I can't find the pics though. It wasn't blanketed white or anything, but definitely had enough to see. It was an awesome setting, and snowed more as we got back to the camp to clean it up. Way better (to me) than me sweating from head to toe pulling one out when it's 70.

The only thing better is shooting snowshoe hares when there is a sudden warm up. They are in their white phase and without snow are super easy to spot!
