7 pt and spike just chased two does across
My perspective is the Ruts on full swing but the heat is slowing the daylight movement
Happy to be alive and able.
Good luck to everyone!

With severe weather predicted Wednesday on top of the heat, I’m likely going to cut my week short and come back for the cold front.

We’ve seen at least a few does crossing from this stand every morning someone has sat here, this morning, nada.

Smoking the 75 pounds of deer sausage we made yesterday. It’ll smoke until 1230-1
Hope to get it wrapped and in the freezer so I can hunt this evening.

Slept in today with this plan in mind. Weather is abnormal so trying to hunt abnormal times. Been seeing quite a few deer on cam around lunch.

Walthall Co
69* light wind
30-06 and .556 for yotes
Box overlooking planted road and greenfield

Saw a big ol coyote last time I sat in this stand so brought along the AR pistol just in case. Cool at the moment but I’m sure it will feel like a hot box up here soon. Merry Christmas and Good Luck OB

Duck hunted in Franklin Parish this morning, found a little pocket of Mallards yesterday and hunted them this morning.

They did it right in the wind, I passed the Woodrows sitting all around me and shot green heads at 20 yards this morning, it was glorious, and the first time like that in a LONG time.

Who’d have thought with it 65°?

Hunted until 8. Had somewhere to be for 8:30. Deer have shut down daylight showings. Sprayed some tinks 69 on a towel before the hunt around 6am at 15 yards. Went back and pulled game cam card at 10am.

I’ve been sitting since 5:30 in north area 9, haven’t seen anything move but cardinals and blue jays, and even they shut up after awhile. I keep telling myself to give it ten more minutes.
