biggest thing I miss about the South is bass fishing

And hot chicks in bikinis you actually see in person

We have them here, just not all sweaty. Lakes get warm enough to swim in for the most part. Summer temps in Fairbanks are warmer than those in parts of the coastal West. Lakes get lots of solar energy with the long daylight hours.

But they're aren't a whole lot of people in Alaska and I bet there are more hot chicks in a county in Texas than that entire place

May be, but less competition. Never found a shortage of hot chicks anywhere I have been.

Most popular swimming hole locally is this place....

You can hike/ski the glacier, kayak, catch 20 lb coho salmon and swim all within a few minutes of each other.

You should try it. Great fun, and it can be challenging. One of my uncles was a pro bass fisherman a few decades ago, used to love going out with him

No kidding, we were up in June, unbelievable weather. Women were bountiful, were brought a lot ourselves.
The kicker was that when I walked out of my hotel room I heard Zydeco music in the square.

One of the one biggest hangups I have about moving to the northwest. Lack of bass. Plenty of trout fishing but I haven't perfected bass yet so I don't know if I'm ready for a new challenge

Don't do it. Too many bass lakes and inshore fishing and hot babes on the beach to go out to the NW

I have also been late for the blastoff and couldnt enter. Decided to fish anyway. Came in at the time of the weigh in and would have destroyed the competition.

Missed 1st and big bass once because my watch stopped, and my partners had not been switched to daylight savings. Hi Neck!

I'm amazed at how many hasn't caught a largemouth. Even I've caught quite a few. Used to spend a few weeks of summer at Toledo Bend with pow pow and mow mow.
