Just bought an infantry knife that is frickin huge...the blade is 4.8"...is there a limit to how big they can be in your car? I figure if you can keep a gun in there you can keep a knife...

A sword should be the limit...

Actually I thought there was a limit.
Something like a 2" blade or the total length of the knife when opened???

that's what I figured I'm just making sure...what if your car is on campus...
I dunno...it is a "no weapons zone." Definitely can't have a gun in your truck on campus, which is pretty ghey if you ask me

I carry a knife at all times and I'll leave before someone takes it away from me.

A buddy told me something like that for having a knife on campus.

My everyday knife is 8.5-9" opened (yes I'm compensating)

I used to carry a 6" blade bit it was too bulky. Now I have a shitty 3" gerber but I want something a little more compact, like 2.5" or so and thin. I keep putting it off though.
I usually have a 6" blade in my truck though

I think as long as it fits in your car, you are ok.

Illegal knife in Louisiana is defined as automatic opening. So switchblade is illegal knife. No size limit on legal knives.
This is our knife policy at work. As long as it's legal in Louisiana.

This is my policy also. I've carried a knife all my life since 1st grade. Never carry it for protection just feel funny if I don't have it.

In my Jeep, I've got an Bolo Trench Knife that's dang near big as a shovel (go figure?).
Yeah, I'm compensating, too.

I've seen cane knives smaller than that thing.

You can most definitely have a gun in your vechile on campus. In LA your vechile is an extension of your home and is protected under the Castle Law (or something like that). This has been confirmed by state police, BRPD, and LSU pd. Now since LSU has a policy (not law) against this, you will be subject to them for disciplinary actions. However, it will not a legal case.
The law even goes on to include dorm rooms and fraternity house rooms. Again, LSU might and prolly will have a problem with it but no legal ramifications.

Yeah getting expelled from school would be a pretty big deal for me so I'm not gonna risk it.
