GSP's are not for the average family, and those that get them as regular dogs likely have horrible experiences with them b/c you'd swear all that dog does is chug red bulls all day. Their energy is ridiculous, and most owners are not capable of allowing their GSP to release that daily energy.
They also seem to have severe anxiety issues about being without their owner, more than the average dog.
and to answer OP's question, absolutely not, not even close.

My wife insisted on getting ours, not a hunting dog. I knew what we were getting into. I said ok, I will let you get it but it's on you to train him, etc.
She stuck with that for about 2 weeks and now we just have a crack head. Luckily have a large yard and other dogs to play with or he would be unbearable.

If you do any research at all the first thing that you will read is "high energy, more high energy than you can imagine".
People don't do their research and then are surprised with their energy level. owners fault.
It would be like me buying a Chevy Suburban and then complaining about the gas mileage.

I was wanting one ,they are beautiful dogs but after I read about their energy levels I changed my mind.
I got a Redbone Coonhound puppy, she has a lot of energy at intervals but she is a sleeping machine.I’ve been working with her on blood trailing and she is doing very well. She gets all hyped up when I put her tracking harness on,most excited she gets except when grandchildren come over.
She’s made a good house dog,was easy to house break and sheds very little. Is a good dog for what I wanted.

Got my dog a little over a year ago. Pound listed her as a GSP, she’s definitely mixed just not sure of how much or what. Not very energetic and gets bored with fetch easily, hates guns, but damn does she need to be underneath my feet at all times.

Exact same position i was in. I ended up with a blue tick beagle. She is also a sleeping machine, and a tracking machine when i need her. I needed a low energy dog, as my dog comes to work with me everyday.

That poor dog is about to get his dick hung up in that fence.

You need to work on your reading comprehension.
The issue was the owners own ignorance of the gsp breed and their energy level, not an issue with the dog.
Do a little research on a breed before you buy the dog.
I can read just fine. You can’t just pretend like the single biggest challenge to owning one doesn’t count.

….would make the suburban a pretty tough sell as the greatest vehicle of all time, no?

Yes they are!!!
Ours is about 11 and is an old man. Their only downfall is the shedding.
In his prime, ours acted like he was a contestant on American Ninja warrior most of the day. Once he got outside, he would run his energy out then crash the rest of the night.
Now he just sleeps most of the day. We are going to miss him badly in a few years when he passes on to the great bird hunt in the sky.

20+ years of owning shorthairs, currently have 3 and seeing the good, the bad and the ugly. Seeing when almost no one knew my GSP wasn’t a Dalmatian to almost everyone knowing recognizing the breed plus the puppy mills putting out shite dogs.

You are a moron.
Let me explain this to you like you're a 5 year old.
If you don't want a high energy dog then don't buy a German Shorthaired Pointer.
Anyone who buys a German Shorthaired Pointer without knowing that they are high energy was apparently too lazy and/or stupid to do 2 minutes of research before they made their purchase.
Don't know if you're lazy, but it's crystal clear that you're stupid.
