I sold my boat earlier this year with the plan to just take 3-4 charter trips a year. I've never been on an inshore charter trip, so I have a few questions. What is the going rate for an inshore charter trip for 4 people? I'm looking to book two trips between now and summer time. I am fine with fishing anywhere between the Northshore and Grand Isle. What questions should I ask and what is a typical tip for an inshore trip? Thanks.

600-800 for 4 fisherman usually 6-8 hrs on water or limit first

Some captains will run a single for 4 hrs for a good deal less.

Try Capt Travis Lovell out of Dularge, he may give a better rate for multiple trips booked and tell hi I sent you.

I would defiantly go to Dularge and go with Marty Lacoste, Absolute Charters. Just go look on the sportsman he catches all the time and i have been with him . And the prices are around the same with anyone down there. If he is too booked try Bill Lake.

Not a fan of him either. We used Josh Ellendar from Light Tackle Charters in Dularge and Laid Back Charters in Grand Isle. I would recommend both of them in a hear beat. Going to book another with Josh this summer.

I 2nd this ^^

All the guides mentioned are really good. You have to throw Capt Travis Miller with Millertime Charters in that arena too. All these guys pretty much work together so its good with anybody you go with. I still talk to Travis regularly and he has helped me out tremendously. Hes def got my business from here on out. Highly Recommended!
I sold my boat in Nov and started considerting the same thing hiring a guide instead until my next boat. You wont be disappointed

Lovell, Ellenders, Lacoste, Miller all help each other out with big trips and all can put you on fish.

I always suggest Lovell cause of how he caters to everything when you are on the boat. He is also good with kids.

Yep. I know Travis' ole lady and he seems like a good dude. There are aome really good, young, inshore guides out of Dularge right now. Take your pick in the best trout fishery in the state

Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to mention that some of the trips will include kids, so a captain that is good with kids is important.

Just curious as to why you don't recommend him? I thought he was one of the best in Dularge?

I am going to contact Cpt Phil tomorrow for an Easter weekend trip. It has been quite a while since I've fished out of the Lafitte area. Thanks for the tip!

bullshite, Bill Lake is one of the better ones down there. I've been back on the dock by 8am with our limit more than once.
