I agree they look a bit goofy, but if you've ever went under the knife due to skin cancer, you might think otherwise. I started wearing them on the water a few years ago. First PRO...less burn, less chance for doctor to play slash and burn on my fcae.
I do wear the hell out of sunscreen in the chance i'm too hungover to remember to pack one. Sunscreen will kill a live well full of shrimp faster than you could imagine if you happen to pollute, fumbling around with bait. That's the second PRO, no sunscreen, no dead shrimp.
Thirdly, who the hell is really taking inventory of what the other guys are wearing on the water anyway?? If you want to look like a goofy kayak ninja then be my guest. I don't know how much time you spend on the water, but if you've ever taken a close look at some of those broads skin down in Grand Isle, you might reconsider.
Free-radicals are bad news, you might want to educate yourself.
