It’ll have to be in $500-$750 range to I’m thinking .308 will be the caliber I have to get. 6.5 Creedmoor has blown up in popularity and seems to be the higher priced option according to my searches on PSA.

I don’t have any real specific plans for it. More like just a fun gun to have more than anything. Similar to my AR-15.

very hard to find one that cheap. even savage's dont start that cheap. $1500 is like your baseline for a savage or S&W

PSA has a PA-10 for 699. My buddy has two and likes them.

I have no experience with DPMS but my buddy has two and seems to like them.

AR10 platforms can be very finicky. I personally wouldn’t build one, and I’ve built AR15s and SBRs in 5.56 and 300BLK. Best bang for buck is the Smith and Wesson AR10.

I have been considering a Remington 700 SPS as well. Caliber?

Picked up a PSA ar10 complete lower and complete upper 18" SS barrel for 560 last Friday. Willing to give it a shot as a pig gun for that price.

Just shipped today. I can let you know when I get it in hand. The forever "delay" status will get me I'm sure.

But I have a PSA 5.56 rifle that I love. I don't beat them up though.

I’ve got the two items listed above in my shopping cart. $613.98 with shipping. I want to hit that confirmation button so bad.

I built my AR-10. 1st put a .308 barrel on it then switched it to a 6.5 Creedmoor.

I absolutely love it. Stupid accurate and never had any issues with it at all.

ETA: DPMS Lower and Aero Upper.

You have to be careful on making sure the uppers and lowers match.

There are armalite receivers and DPMS receivers. They are not interchangeable.

So I guess a PSA upper and PSA lower will be good then. Awesome.

Also make sure you buy the correct pattern magazines. Armalite and DPMS pattern magazines are different.

Get an AK. It's a great platform and ammo is 1/2 what .308 costs.
