Thanks.

And for the rest of you who can't follow directions, I still have no desire to own a full size, plastic gun.

This is a compact plastic gun.

Crazy though how small pistols have gotten since that was introduced in 2001. Almost like that's now a full sized plastic gun and the micro guns are compact. This is my one handgun for eternity.

ETA: My post is only a comment on size.

Gaston I respect the hell out of you for sticking to your "guns" (taco rims, watches, 357 sig) but I know now you've never shot a 1911.

I've barely shot this thing. I know I'd love the watch like mechanics of a 1911, no doubt.

I was being honest though, I'll likely never buy another pistol.

It's the Erector set of handguns. On second thought you should probably NEVER shoot one.

I love taking shite apart and customizing things, but I just realized I'm not enough of an enthusiast to own a hair-trigger, cocked and locked gun. My P2000 is a revolver compared.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. It has helped. It has helped mainly because I feel resistance in my soul any time one of you suggests anything other than the 1911. I don't think I'd be happy with anything else. I'm an artist, and as far as I'm concerned, the 1911 is a work of art.

For my purposes, I think it will fit the bill. It has some carry drawbacks, but there are pros and cons to everything.

Step 1: Get wife a purse gun.
Step 2: Save money for 1911.
Step 3: Profit.
