I've had to have one of these pull me out once...If you are anywhere near where timber is being harvested, you may be in luck...

I can verify that skidders work quite well...course you have to be careful or whatever you're pulling out may come out in pieces...
but I have to agree with hammertime...you're making this way to complicated...

Ok...that's not very hard now, is it? He'll bro g a generator if he's too lazy to bring wires out there.

Bringing a generator, a battery charger strong enough to keep up with the draw of a winch, and an extra battery seems a little bit more complicated than just bringing a $50 hand crank winch. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy, but that's just what my calculations are showing.
I guess you are forgetting how expensive it is to get two 25ft lengths of 0 gauge wire, and then have absolutely no use for them after that. Seems logical.
Yall are just thinking too much about a simple problem. I mean frick, he's not building the hoover dam
Ex: My garage door won't open and I need to go to work
Hammertime's answer: pull the cord and open the door
OB's answer:
Get ONLY a Stihl 090 with a 72" bar
Cut the back of your house off to make room for the hovercraft
Have sikorsky helicopter drop off hovercraft in back yard
Hook up 47 snatch blocks to 48 shackles
Wrap together your own 2 3/4" winch wire
String it through every single one of the shackles and snatch blocks, but don't lose track
Use hovercraft to drag truck out of now demolished garage
Use helicopter to fly you to work

No pics yet, is this story even real?

Been there, but it was a Tacoma and I just drove it home after the swimming incident. After 3 days drying in the sun, I put it all back together and continued driving it for 3 more years

This makes me so sad... 4% battery life and dude left his beer on the roof. I'd buy you a beer just because you had to go through this ordeal.

With a come-a-long and a chainsaw my ole man could get a Sherman tank unstuck.

Apparently the second truck is on a trailer being pulled by the first truck when they were caught in rising water. Still stuck as of this Sunday morning. Facebook Jimmy Brightwell...
Eta: also has a gofundme setup due to loss of both trucks, wants to raise only $20K, and dumb folks are contributing!

When I see this... I think to myself.... Who the hell doesn't have full coverage on a new truck? Idiots.
As for getting it out. 10 drums per truck, ratchet straps under the truck. Tighten them up...lift trucks slightly.. Float em out. Idiots.

I've drove a skidder for years, it definitely has the fire power. The winch is usually rated at 40 or 60000 lbs. I can't quite remember. But I've tied onto heavier trucks to pull out
More fun is getting a skidder unstuck
