What's a good set in the $300 range?

Very nice. I know nothing of binoculars; was just curious of your motives. Carry on

I have a very nice set of monarchs but I find they are too big and heavy. I wish I had gotten a small travel style pair bc I never use my big binos in the stand.

Meopta in the $400 range. Got mine at Bowie. Great glass for the price.

Nikon monarchs if its possible... does zeiss make a conquest binoc? I'd spend all $300 on the set if not put up a little more and get a better pair.

Somebody walked off with Josey's bil's $400 Leupold's from table by all night kickfire drinking session at camp weekend after funeral. He wanted gift cards for Christmas to replace he liked em so much.

I bought the 3x12x56 MeoStar a few years ago from another store and was impressed. Went to Bowie for binoculars last year and they recommended Monarchs...Meoptas are far superior.

I got a pair of Alaska Guide--a Cabelas private label that suffice for what I do.

I never use them as much as I though I would. I just don't deer hunt as much as I used too. I should put them in my truck so they will be more handy.

That's a damn shame someone took those.

I'll have to go try some of these recommendations out in person.

What y'all think about the vortex brand? They're getting good reviews on the cabelas website.

Im to the point that Im going to sell my bino's and rangefinder and just get a Bushnell Fusion 1600. Binos and rangefinder in one with some clear glass. Sure its not Swaro, but itll serve every function I need it to.

Don't ever look through a pair, because not much else compares to them
