When I graduated from LSU, my first job was a sales rep for White Farm Equipment, it was right after they merged Oliver and Minneapolis Moline together.

Those mid range Whites were some tough sumbitches and the big ones 180/210hp used to use the Cat 3208 diesel engine.

Aww hell, Maybe it was a lemon or he just did too much with the size like you said. I`ve never heard anyone complain about them.
probably a little bit of both. hell, i don't know what size it was, but he welded a cage on it to keep limbs from hitting us in the face. i used it almost like it had a front-end loader/dozer. i had to cut it out of the middle of a group of yaupons i plowed over. i don't think i had a tire on the ground.

Mahindra is the old IH tractor I think

Yassir I believe you are correct.

We have an old massy 1135 at work that is HUGE. It's only (I think) 135 horse tractor and it's almost too big to put in the barn. It's amazing how much smaller the tractors are these days. Burn alot less diesel too

Also have one exactly like this. IH 1586

Both have over 5000 hours on them and have never been any trouble. A damn tractor is an amazing machine.

I had a John Deer 790 (30 hp). Damn handy little tractor and I bush hogged 10 or so acres with it. Upgraded to a JD 4005 (42 hp) a couple years ago. It is a beast.

One think with a tractor is you'll never hear yourself bitching if you have too much power. I say bite the bullet and buy something 30+hp. We currently have a JD 3320 with the hydrostatic transmission and love it. It catches hell and never misses a beat. I'd say it's probably the most useful piece of equipment we own and if I remember correctly was around $14k new.

I have an old 1984 Kubota L235 that was overhauled in 1996. It only has 23 hp. It's okay for the bushhog, but I need a bigger one with a front end loader. I would suggest to go with at least 30hp or more and a front loader. Always needing to do something at home or the lease that my tractor is just not big enough for. Next time I buy I want 40hp and four wheel drive. Plenty of brands to choose from out there that are good, but I will probably go with Kubota again.

I'd damn sure get one with a loader. You'd never dream all the shite you can do with it.

I can't imagine not having a loader anymore. I wonder how my dad made it farming soybeans and raising cows all those years without one.

And I would get a Deere. Alot of people like Kubotas, but I don't. The three kubotas I had that were all less than a year old got outworked by a 30 year old Ford and 15 year old Deeres of less HP. Not to mention all the repairs that had to be made.

There really isn't a limit to uses for the loader...

Trailer hitch on the top of it and move trailers around
hang deer from them
mover dirt, gravel, etc
spread gravel, dirt, etc
lift stuff
clear paths popping trees out of the ground (smaller ones)

I can't imagine not having one.

That sums up a loader. Push, load, move dirt, forklift attachment, deer skinning rack. Basically no need to ever lift over 50lbs by yourself when you have a loader.

A front end loader will also give some extra weight on the front. I need it for bushhogging pond levees. Added all the weights I could to my little tractor till the bumper fell off.
