Really just started doing a lot of inshore fishing a couple of years ago, being 3 hours from the coast is just a tad of a hassle but I love it! Smoke some on the half shell and they were amazing. Caught this one on a quick anniversary trip for my wife and me this past weekend in Pensacola. First one I've seen with 6 spots on one side. Had 4 on the other side.

My family used to take a trip to Galveston every year. First year I went, I ended up catching a couple of reds, a speckled trout, some flounder and what I believe we sand trout. When the waves would roll, you could see the reds in the surf. We had the feast of a dinner. Red Fish on a half shell was absolutely my favorite fish out of the group.

We went back for 3 or 4 years after and I didn't catch anything. It's been years since I've been back down there. Wouldn't mind going and hiring a charter down there.

That's a cool looking red!

When I still lived in South LA, it's all I really fished for when I was in my boat. I'd keep 1 fish a week. Enough for the wife and I to have it on the pit on the half shell. It's about the only thing I truly miss about living there.

The Woodlands. I mean I can still fish. But I used to be able to trailer my flats boat to work and stop to fish for an hour or so before heading home. Now where I'm at and with kids and their activities, making the 2 hour trip is a not an opportunity I get much, so fallen away from doing it very often.

indeed. Pretty, fun to catch, good to eat if not too big.
