Kuiu starts at 5 minutes, 6:30 he shows a deer on it, guts in.
I’ve put 80-100 pounds of sand in mine a few times, it seems sturdy and looks brand new. I read somewhere they changed the layup or technique of the carbon frame a while back.

Just go without a tag. Its very much worth the experience and if you've never done it, a tag is probably wasted money the first trip anyway.

I would consider renting a pack for your first trip. You can find great deals on all of the packs suggested in this thread. If you like the pack, they will let you buy it. If you don’t like it, you’ll at least have a better idea of the things you want when you do buy.

This right here. Lots of options and the best frame in the business.

They had to. Go Hunt did a test on all of the frames of the “top” packs about 2 years ago and Kuiu performed the worst. It was flimsy and floppy.
The winner head and shoulders above the rest was Mystery Ranch.

Nope. That would be Barney’s.

I have a Kifaru 357 mag. It’s a very nice pack. Packed out a mule deer from Nebraska sand hills last year . Give them a look . Made in USA .

Kuiu updated their frame and suspension system a few years back
I've had over 80lbs in mine several times with no issues
I will say, the older belt suspension absolutely sucked arse over 35lbs. The new one rides really well on hips.

I've never noticed squeaking with my kuiu and now I regret watching that video cause I'm going to be listening for it.
Last year I put an elk quarter bone in with about 25lbs of other gear in my pack no issue.
My friend has mystery ranch. Nice arse pack as well but seemed to be heavier and more pockets, buckles etc to deal with. I actually have 2 kuiu now

How's this work? A dude just drops off his horses and comes pick them up a week later?

I used my Mystery Ranch all year and still have no idea what some of the straps and buckles are for. I did buckle a piglet to the outside of it using some of them.
