Fished Sabine lake Saturday. We were on the Texas side at the Causeway so had to follow Texas law ( 10 speck limit, 15" minimum). We caught around 200 specks between the two of us. Most were 13.5 to 14" . We did catch 18 keepers though. Most in the 19" range and very heavily bodied. Had 1 16" flounder as well. Was a good day.

Fished out of Cocodrie yesterday and today. Bite was slow to say the least. Water was nice yesterday, today windy and stormy. Ended up in the marsh.
Most people I spoke to didn't do too well.

It's a public place, they have a size restriction of 14 inches, and it's in the woods. Other then that I cannot help you.

just hate looking at a damn "strike indicator"

I shite you not..when i closed my eyes that night all i could see was a little white and orange cork going under water. We launched at Belle River public landing (we fished one of the "forks" if that helps you any). The parking lot looked like a Saturday morning in the spring during the spawn. We passed one canal and it had 6 boats crammed at the mouth with another 5 further down the canal. We made our way down to another canal and fished by ourselves pretty much all day - i was shocked. We ended up catching most of our fish within 50 yards of our 1st stop. I think we had 4 boats pass us all day. We're headed back out there again tomorrow to see whats bitin'. Hopefully we can find some 14" green trout

Old reef, recognizable by the big wooden tower.

NNE ?? of Barataria Pass at about
29° 22.124’ N.
89° 56.673’ W

Used to be a very popular spot but gets much less pressure these days.

It's usually flooded during the spring spawn... Crawfisherman are usually the majority of the boats there I'm assuming they were filling up the outside of the levee? I avoided that place like the plague Saturday

If I wasnt diving I think that would have been a good second option

Pecan, there's a guy at UNO doing a study on them so he asked for us to give him the ones we shoot but usually its the same as the sportfishermen that target Tarpon, its just a sportfish
