Fished out of Cocodrie Saturday morning.

Quick summary: 3 people in boat, didn't want to fish live bait so we stuck with top dogs, speculizers, and saltwater assassin's "chicken on a chain" under a cork. We fished a small island just north of sulphur mine, gulf side of last island near whiskey pass, and several points w/ current crossing on back side of the island. Water was beautiful everywhere until you got within 50-100 ft of the island. Thousands of 11 inch fish on backside of island. Never found the decent fish. Finished with about 35 or so.

me and my buddy caught 30 or 40 bass between the 2 of us, all 12-13.5"

had the same thing happen to us early Friday afternoon. Never seen a bass bite like that at 3pm in the afternoon. Between 2 of us we must have caught 20+ bass in an hour....only 2 keepers though. I wasnt too pissed since we had 92 sacs in the ice chest at that point. We had a self-imposed 9" or better limit on the sacs and had several between 12" and 13.5". Chartreuse and black panfish assassin's worked early in the a.m. with brown and orange jigs or orange/chartreuse/black beetle tails under a cork later in the day were the ticket for the sacs.

ETA for pics:

No, I'm really not sure why. It seems like its been like that for most of the summer. If you can find an area where the clean/dirty line is closer to the island you'll do better. Hopefully with it being closer to the full moon today and tomorrow will be better for you.

Got off of work at 1 on Friday and went to my camp on Old River. My cousin was there with his boat and we went out to fish some houseboats. We got to one and immediately started catching sac-au-lait. We fished from it from 4-6 and caught 56. All nice ones too.

He had brought my aunt to go bass fishing, so we left the houseboat, went pick her up, and tried for some bass. Caught 3 bass (one around 4 lbs) and 3 bar fish/rock bass/striped bass that evening.

Saturday I was boatless since mine blew the frick up last weekend. I fished off our pier and raft and caught a good bit. I think around 60 for the whole day. I didn't fish too hard as I had a lot of work to do. The 60 was between 6 or 7 people fishing on and off.

Sunday was slow again. 3 of us caught about 30 off the pier Sunday morning.

All in all it was a pretty damn good weekend. The fishing off our pier could've been better, but I stil caught a nice mess each day. I spent a lot of Saturday brushing our raft, so hopefully we'll catch more in the future.

I'll post a few pics when I get them emailed to me.

Going to Dulac next weekend chasing the ever elusive trout limit this year.

It was. I drank plenty of beer between reeling them in. Although sometimes I do like the trips where I'm catching them too fast to drink.

Fished out of Cameron Friday & Saturday for the Fishing Festival. Nothing notable for the board, but had 2 100qt + ice chest full of fish to clean yesterday. Ended up with 6 Ice bags full of fillet fish. Went to the rigs off Grand Chenier Saturday Am, few specks & tripple tail, but Spanish was dominant!
