Sounds like you have been pretty reasonable. My suggestion would be to video tape them crossing your property boundary and provide that to green jeans. You could also find a lawyer friend to write them a cease and desist letter on his or her letterhead. It is a pure bluff, but sometimes getting something official like that will deter folks and have them go elsewhere.

Truthfully though, I think your time and energy would be much more efficiently spent looking for a new lease because I highly doubt they are going to stop.

Build a fence and try to trap them.

Maybe do a big v that funnels into a box they can’t get out of? Then you have their dogs and they can pick them up from the pound.

Or contact the actual land owner and lease out the 300 acres from under the dog guys.

There isn’t a good answer. I’ve had guns put in my face and public roads blocked up when I confronted trespassers to keep me boxed in.

After that happens and you get mad enough, dogs begin to show up in places like pounds and tracking collars on foam floating down rivers.

You can also tie the dogs up on side of the road to a tree and call game wardens to stake out what happens next

Find out if the land they are leasing belongs to a timber company. Most timber companies only allow dog hunting on their land if the club is grandfathered in. I can almost promise you if you are vigilant with the timber company you will get results. Call the timber company and ask to speak to the person in charge of hunting leases. Most of theses guys are nice people and very helpful. Don't be discouraged if they are difficult to contact. Try to call first thing in the morning.

Yep. Some of my best memories are of chasing walkers as a kid but for whatever reason dog hunting attracts some of the trashiest mother frickers on the planet and they usually have a lot less to lose than you do. There really is no good answer except keep working with the game warden and hope he can get them to quit or pay to low fence the whole place.

Probably. I have no problem with dog hunting or if their dogs got on us every now and then by accident. They are flagrant about it

Good luck, we have the same problem. Gotta get game wardens involved and we hold the dogs when we catch them. If the hunters are local they usually work with you, but most of these guys are from one of the parishes and could care less since they have no real interest in care/maintenance of the deer population or respecting landowners.

Dog hunters need to realize that times have changed. I’m in a dog club between Oil City and Vivian and we only have around 2000 acres. We have gone to nothing but beagles in the last 10 years to try to keep them on our land. We have 1 300 acre piece that we can make 3 runs out of it if done correctly. So your neighbors must be running big dogs.

It’s a tough situation if the culprits really don’t give a shite. Just keep making it difficult and maybe they will make some changes. Maybe contact the club president and keep complaining. My cousin is president of a club in Downsville that has been running dogs for 50years and he cut it out completely because of constant complaints from neighbors. I love hearing the hounds run, but like the other poster said, dog hunting attracts the biggest white trash there is.

Last year our dogs got off our property only twice. Once we got bitched out for going to get them, and the other time we called the landowner and he had no problem with us coming to get them.

Trap the dogs and cut the collars.

Give collars to owners and tell them the dogs are dead.

Drop dogs off at pound in another parish/county/state.
