If it were just that we wouldn't have a problem. They know their dogs ain't gonna stay on 300 acres.

Cant you train the dogs to get off the deer with those collars?

Around 4 years ago my cousin was hunting about 100 yards in from the road. He heard the dog running something and a barely legal buck was being pushed to them. He shot it before they could to piss them off. They had the nerve to be waiting at the gate and wanted a pat on the back for their dogs running the dink to him

Oh they are, but are human beings that you can relate to if they are local. If they aren’t local the sheriff or game wardens are your best bet as the hunters are likely in a pack or have been drinking. We’ve had nails thrown in our driveway and young dudes yell FU to my 85 y/o dad when his back was turned after he gave them their dogs back at night, when my brother and I weren’t there. We constantly remind each other it’s only deer and most of these hunters seem like they have nothing to lose, so ultimately it’s best to leave it alone if you’re outnumbered, it’s dark or they are acting aggessively. Sad state but reality.

This is normally the case with use. There is always at least 4 or 5 of them and 2 or 3 of use. All holding guns and us holding bows. That wont end well.

We have had some bad experiences with trespassers as well. A lot of the land we hunt hadn't been formally hunted in 10 or 15 years. People feel entitled to keep hunting it just because they always had been and never told get out. One baw tried to run my cousin over. We have a game warden stake out and catch a road hunter on a different tract. Dumbass shot the decoy in a bean field at nigjt.

Not surprising, these folks are a different animal than my fellow rednecks, got a little to a lot of outlaw in them. A visible presence helps deter them more than anything else and so I let a lot of buddies hunt our tracts just to keep the dog hunters cautious.

We just have gps collars. Can’t shock em or anything, just follow where they are. It’s hard as hell to get a dog off a deer’s track. We plan our races out well and line the property line with lots of people to catch the dogs if they try to get by. But I’m telling you, hunting hounds have an unbelievable drive to keep chasing their game.

It makes me excited just typing about hearing those dogs hot on a track.

but not trashy to kill a deer because it is his fault?

You have some strange logic my friend.

First step is to inform them to keep the dogs off your property.

Second step is let them find them by watching for buzzards circling.

You are dealing with white trash and they do not understand anything else.

I went through this on an inexpensive, good lease. I decided my money was better spent paying more for a place where assholes didn’t blatantly run dogs across other people’s property.

We are nice about it once. Next time we sling the bloody collars out in their driveways or hang them on the mailbox. They seem to get the hint pretty quick.

I’ve had them release them on the road fronting my 8 acres (my house is in the back corner of the property) and the dogs ran the deer (that I provide with additional corn nourishment) off my land back into the national forest that backs my land. My little dog was out in the yard at the time cutting up at them when they came through, so I walked out to the highway to see if any trucks were out there, and sure enough, they were just sitting there chilling. I flagged the closest guy to me to walk over and talk and he immediately pulled the bullshite “We’s just trying to round em up” routine. Called the tags into green jeans, who’s not a big fan of road hunters and haven’t seen them again.

I'm not eating the dog. The dog is just aggravating me and doesn't know any better. The dog can't read signs but the owner can.

I miss it big time. The whole hunting experience is different for the worse without dogs IMO.

You can't fight these idiots

You should bow hunt until dog season then go fishing

Then you will either have to learn to live with it or move on, no one is writing a dog a trespassing ticket and the owners are very well aware of what they are doing.

An dog is no different than an armadillo in the yard or a rat in your barn at the end of the day, leave them alone or lay them out, whichever pleases you more.

Using that logic, a deer is nothing more than a big overgrown rabbit, but grown men go bat shite crazy over the bones that grow on top of their heads.
