Talk to me boss. I’m open to suggestions. I don’t feel comfortable with the garbage bag method

Why not put on some coveralls and a helmet to protect your face. Knock it down and set it on fire.

Nope, no ideas from me. Im just waiting for the movie!
The only time I ever had to do this, I parked a tractor under the nest running at about 1500 rpm, dove off and ran for my life, left it running for 5 or 6 hours.
They never came back. I think the nest fell on the hood of the tractor after a while and I assume most of the hornets got themselves stuck in the air filter or something.

If you have a window nearby, lean out of it at night and knock it off with a broom stick. Shut the window quickly

That is an option. Will they vacate the nest if it’s on the ground?

I can pull my truck up to the nest. I’m gonna roll my window down a little a stuff the gap with towels. I will have a thick glove on the trigger hand. I’m gonna hornet spray the hell out of it. Nothing will be exposed except my gloved hand and no way for the ones that escape to get in the truck.

Be advised that can of hornet spray lasts about ten seconds.

They will probably rebuild somewhere else. Best option is to kill the entire nest. I’ve seen some people do it with a shop vac and vacuuming from the nest entrance. But that takes some cahones

Spray out of nearby window would be my course of action.

Garbage bag technique will work I think.Wear a red headlight,they can’t see
red light,I’ve removed several wasp nests from deer stands like that.
I learned that the hard way, first time I used regular white light, one of them flew at the light and stung me on the eyelid.

I've often waited until dusk when they have returned to the nest, gas and a match. My truck was nearby that I could duck into

I think there's only one hole. Op could wait for a no moon night, run up and stick a cork in it, take the nest down, bring it to some assholes house and throw it into their living room.

All I want to say is that a couple of months ago I got stung by a damn yellow jacket right underneath my chin and it was by far the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. Just a steady throbbing pain for 2 whole days.
fricking sucked. I’ve been hit by wasps, hornets, bees, sandflies, horseflies, etc…. This was the worst pain ever, I never want to go through that again
Godspeed

There was a movie about killer bees in the 1980s that scared the shite out of me. They were coming through the a/c vents of some baws truck.

I just use the hose. Water doesn't seem to freak them out, and the nest falls to the ground and they just fly away. Then you throw the nest in the trash.
