a couple years ago when i was putting the boat in the water every weekend i would have 6 set ups on the deck. one for flippin a jig , a worm rod , a couple for soft plastics and whatever else i was feeling that day on the other ones. i found that i was catching 90% of my bass on soft plastics so i became very confident with them. these days damn near every fish i catch comes on a senko or a trick worm.

I'll typically have at least 3, sometimes more. Soft plastic Texas rig, topwater (typically buzzbait) and a jiggin'/flippin' rig at the very least.

LOL, 20 damn rods ? A little over kill maybe ?How long does it take you to re tie a rod ? Two or three should be enough if you know what you're doing.

all of a couple seconds. The ranger has 3 rod boxes. And I like certain rods with certain reels with certain line for certain lures. When I want to use a certain lure, I grab and go. No fumbling through the boat to find something. Also have another set entirely for saltwater fishing

I rub my finger on the line very often throughout the day, also look at it, if it's got anything wrong with it, I re-tie it.
Same here. If it's not perfect, it's not right. I've lost one fish to line breakage - my fault for not setting my drag properly.

I agree. I usually have 2 graphite/glass rods with fouro of different tests rigged wtih crankbaits, 2 fast tip graphite rods with mono one with a popper or spook and one with a double colorado blade spinnerbait, 2 heavy rods with braid one with a frog or swimbait and one with a jig and craw, 2 worm rods with fouro of different tests one with weightless rigged tikki stick and one with texas rigged worm, a heavy carolina rod with braid and a fluro leader, and a spinning rod with fluro and a drop shot rig.

Of course the day usually ends with different baits on different rods.

I too frequently check for nicks on my line and retie/replace as needed.

if i notice my leader is frayed pretty bad i'll re-tie. i subscribe to the school of thought that the more knots i tie the better the chance of me tying a shitty one.
