It's the first one I have ever killed, and I really didn't want to,but it was coming up behind my Mom's house too often, and she has a little dog.

I have never paid to have any animal stuffed, but this one is beautiful. I might do it if it is affordable.

If I do it, I would want to take it to a reputable shop,so I'm not looking for bargain prices.
I wrapped it in plastic, and put it in the deep freeze right away, did I do the right thing?

I had one done a couple years ago for 400. If I were you I would also consider tanning the hide as another option

4-500 bucks would be doable, but having the hide tanned isn't a bad idea either.

I believe they're more than 400 nowadays. It's one of the hardest animals to mount, without the facial features turning cartoonish. Takes practice and lots of attention to reference material. If you want it done, find someone reputable and check out their previous work. Make sure you got all the air you can out of the first bag, then bag it again to prevent freezer burn.

Bobcat mounts are disasters a lot of times, but the make for a good laugh. I don't think I've ever seen one that was really really good. Seen some that were not make me laugh out loud though

I have seen a couple of good ones, and I plan to find out who did them. I agree with you though, I have seen some bad ones.

Xenon is a master taxidermist on the OB. This is one of his award winning bobcat mounts.

So realistic, it looks like it's still alive.

Oh shite! that's funny! Honestly though,if my bobcat came back looking like that..I would have to get even with somebody.

Downright disrespectful.

my advice ... do extensive research on taxi's who specialize in cats. You can spend $300 up to $1200 for a full body mount as you will get what you pay for

an affordable option ... have the hide professionally tanned at North Texas Tannery and do a skull mount using beetles , would cost you $150 (see below)

these mounts were $1100

$350 cats

A grand, would be getting out of my comfort zone. Might have to go another route.
Not saying that is too much, for good work. Just saying that I can't see myself paying that much for eye candy.
