Do you use them and say screw the haters, or are arm guards for pussies?

When I target shoot a recurve, yes. When I shoot my compound, no.

I don't use one unless I have a baggy shirt on.

I don't use it unless i have loose long sleeves that may interfere with the shot. Recurve is all I have.

You're not really gonna ever hit your arm if shooting a compound correctly, I feel like its more for recurve

I used the pain as a teaching tool when learning how to shoot a bow. I'll still pop myself every now and then when my shoulder gets tired. No I don't even own an arm guard.

They are great for holding loose sleeves tight on your arm.

Otherwise, you must pay for poor form

I don't practice in loose sleeves but I see your point. I've paid the price. I guess that's because I taught myself.

Yep, or else you are shooting way to long of a draw.

I've never hit my arm with my compound.

With a recurve, it happens alot.

I hunt with my compound, I have fun with my recurve.

I don't own one, I never shot with one on, but I have paid dearly for trying to shoot a couple more arrows when I was too worn out to keep proper form. That and I'm pretty sure the draw length on that bow was .5" too long. I got my new bow at 29.5" instead of 30" and it's much more comfortable at full draw.

I started using one in '85. Became habit. I hunt mostly in the cold now and I like to have it for my sleeves.

I only really bowhunt when I'm sweating my arse off so the sleeves are never a problem

I've yet to bow hunt when I had to wear more than a long sleeve shirt.

I always end up trying to kill a deer with a pistol instead
