Our deer season runs from August 15 until January 1.
No weapons restrictions.
We have no limit on bucks, and get a doe tag per hundred acres.
My "best" season was 45 deer.
Today is the last day of our deer season. I killed zero.
The kids can have that mess.

3 of them with a bow.
In the past I deer hunted more but lately I just hunt ducks too much to make a serious effort at deer. Never had a lease so almost all of my hunting is public. I'd like to say it's just impossible to hunt deer with a bow on public land but I think the truth is that I just never was that good at it.

When I was younger I would average 4 or 5 a year, one year I killed 7. Now I kill one or 2 a year, killed 3 this year.

I've been deer hunting for 60 years. Bow and gun i've probably killed 100.

Do button bucks count?
I have screwed up and taken a few real deer but I don't like to think about those mistakes
And one of those "mistakes" was with a crossbow so that doesn't count either correct?

Zero, I'm 25 and have never really been into hunting. But I now have friends with land. so I'm gonna give it a shot.

No bait, no hook, just being honest. Thought I might try bow hunting, now too old. Just don't get it when you put food out for something you wanna kill, and when it (deer) gets hungry, you kill it. Why don't you just raise cows, there's a hell of a lot more meat.

The greatest. Hardly. Lucky. Probably. Picky, no. High fenced operation, no just food on the ground in front of me. I don't even own a deer rifle.

If I've done the math right over the 21 years I've been killing deer, 96 whitetails 2 fallow and 1 mule
Best season was 2011 7 deer in 4 different states including a 160 in whitetail in St Francisville and my first mulie in Montana
