I drink Beast light instead of Miller Lite half the time now to save money. And always buy the biggest box of beer, it's more economical.

I've been known to get a case of Busch or natty when times are tough.

I make my own laundry detergent. It sounds lame, but I make 5 gallons in 10 minutes for less than 3 dollars. Washing clothes for 5 people gets expensive if you are buying store-bought stuff.

I know how to buy cheap beer; but how do you do this?

It affects me a bit. I gotta float or fly to most of the places outside the road system, so my trips were about half of what they normally are this past year.

Shred a bar of Fels Naptha soap ($1 ea) with a cheese grader, add to a pot of water and simmer and stir until the soap is completely melted. In your 5 gallon bucket, add 2 cups of washing soda, one cup of borax, and a half cup or so of baking soda to another two gallons or so of hot water. Mix in the melted soap and water and add hot water (stirring the whole time) until the bucket is almost full. It will turn to a gel. Stuff is not only cheaper, but 5x more effective than store-bought stuff. Find all your favorite work shirts that start to stink the moment you go outside (you know the ones) and wash with this stuff. If they still stink, I'll buy you a box of Beast Light.

I fished a tournament this weeken and spent 200 bucks on gas between my boat and truck to pull the boat . Add in the 30 bucks for a gallon of 2 cycle , 30 bucks to fish the tournament and 20 worth of food and drinks . Add that up and it cost me 270 dollars to fish for one day

Try offshore fishing for a 3 day tournament. $1000 will not even get you off the dock.

It's not really affecting me but I work a fuxk ton so I don't have much playtime. When I do, its usually with my family. Can't wait til lil Williams is old enough to hunt and fish.

My wife just started making laundry detergent. I was very suspect, but it has been working great. I told her the true test will be when it's 500 degrees outside and 200% humidity.

You are throwing your gas money away on electricity and water to wash clothes? Hand wash, son.

@meauxjeaux2- I think you fish Ponchartrain a bunch, right? I'd like to learn it- we have a camp in BSL.

Downshift, NoDust, and I are related- if you show us around, I'll bring you out and pay for all the gas and bait. I run a pretty decent 22' Blazer.
