My surround sound system is done....."the guy" told me the only thing that is working is the center channel and woofer. He thinks ita an amplifier problem. The unit is 7 years old.

Want to replace it.........gimme some options. The TV is a 50" Panasonic (circa 2005) HD.

Get the one on sale at Walmart. Our ears can't tell the difference in the quality of most speakers.

I bought an LG speaker bar with a wireless sub package. Sounds great, easy to install, no pulling wires and drilling.

Im a big fan of Yamaha receivers. I have the RXV671, its pretty badass. Theres an app you can put on your phone that allows you to play from music on any computer in your home via wifi.

I have 3 front speakers and 2 rear already mounted through the walls and stuff. Plus a woofer thing on the floor.

Is a 2.1 surround sound now?

I recently replaced my very good Sony receiver (fried it after 15 years of excellent performance) with a new Sony. I hate it compared to my old one.

I wish I had bought a Yamaha.

I have a Denon 1912 and like it. The new model, the 1913 is supposed to have a better menu setup.

I think all major manufacturers will have an app where you can run through wifi, but they take so damn long to load it's easier using the remote.

One thing that is great is having one with Air Play if you have an iPhone. For listening to music it's great, hit zone 2 and you can jam to your music on the patio without getting up to change songs.

I have a Yamaha RX-2000 and is performs flawlessly. For speakers I have Klipsch all around the main room and the house. Worth every penny. The receiver also has independent zones, which means teen music by the pool, sports inside, and other music in the side room where the ladies like to hide, each can be remotely controlled. I usually run the whole system with my iPad.

It kicks arse and is extremely easy to operate.

I bought the denon 1913 after a house fire to replace an onkyo unit I previously had that got fried by a lightning strike. I liked the onkyo system but like the denon even more. Great options and the sound is awesome, would definitely recommend denon fwiw.

I have a Sony system, with s-air technology. Basically a partial wireless system, front speakers are wire to the unit, back speakers are wireless from the receiver but wired together. Pretty sweet, and much cheaper than the full wireless systems.
