I've never understood cleaning an animal at home unless you are fortunate enough to hunt on the property you live on. If you don't have facilities where you hunt just find a tree. Hell if you don't have those or kill something big it's not difficult to do with the animal laying on the ground. You don't even have to gut it. Gets the meat cooled down quicker too.
This sounds like a much worse idea to me. As it is, I haul 1 piece to the truck, then at home I roll out down the hill to the spot under the deck, winch it up, and then as each piece comes off it is cleaned and put in the fridge or ice chest. Cleaning one out on the WMA or even outside at a farm is just asking for more grass or dirt to get involved. As for cooling, we're not taking about timeframes that matter, I'm maybe an hour from where I shot it.

The more I’ve pondered the whole ordeal, what really bothers me is that whoever it was that complained never thought to just come talk to me. They have valid complaints. I’m not disputing that. I just hate the anonymity of it, and the going to the board about it. I would’ve happily had a conversation with whoever it was that said something. Would I have changed their mind? Probably not, but people don’t know how to talk to each other anymore.

I’ve cleaned plenty of them by throwing a rope over a limb with the gambrel on it. Tie off to the front of the truck and back up. Use truck lights to skin by. I never gut deer.

I got one of the trailer hitch attachments (no trees). It’s fantastic. Granted, based on the timeline the complaint was made, the ten point that was hanging from it probably did get more attention than the ones I’ve just laid across the tailgate. But again, if you have a problem, just come talk to me

So have you read the covenant to make sure they can actually do this?
People hate HOA's but then they hate it when 30 Mexicans move in next door, too.

The type of person to be offended by your activities is typically not the kind of person who gets all jazzed up by face to face conversation. Especially with that conversation is with someone who has the weapons you do.

Yeah I have. They’re operating on generalities. No, there is no specific language in it that addresses archery or wild game processing.

We will refer to my archery equipment as “tools” henceforth.

Passive aggression is the norm these days unfortunately, because everyone can hide behind so many communication channels that aren't face to face.

I work with a lot of HOA’s in my job.
They’re all different, depending on the committee members. Some are pretty hands off and others are composed of busy bodies.
I live out in the country if that tells you anything.

This happened to me when I lived in Nicholson Lakes and I cleaned a deer on the tailgate of my truck. In spite, I plucked a bunch of ducks on a windy day and then moved out of my rent house.
Just send it dawg, maybe hang one up overnight

Don't have to be transplants to cause problems. We have been shooting dove on my uncle's place for about 30 years. Opening day used to be a big event with about 30 people shooting and about 200 eating bbq and watching college football and drinking beer.....some of us were doing all three LOL. Anyway about 10 years ago we were shooting opening day and a sheriff car pulls up. Young deputy gets out (young black man - I suspect he wanted to nothing of the sort but he was duty bound LOL) and asks me who owns the place....I tell him my uncle, his name, and that he is most likely somewhere around the smoker. He thanks me and proceeds up the driveway to the house. About 10 minutes later he comes back down the driveway and tells us all to go to the house. Won't tell us why but we do as he says. When we get there my Uncle explains that someone had shot toward a neighbors house and that they had complained claiming there had been some damage done to a motorcycle in the yard.....from falling bird shot, apparently. Of course everyone on the place with a shotgun could have shot in that direction....the house was about 300 yards away from one corner of the field we were shooting. It is possible that some shot traveled that far but it doing any damage is not possible. My uncle asks the deputy what he wants us to do and he says just do not shoot that direction anymore. We all agree and go on about our business. About an hour later 4 deputies show up with 2 game wardens. They neighbor had complained again. This set my uncle off....alcohol may have been involved at this point....he told them to tell the neighbor if his property had been damaged to sue him. The deputies were standing around while the wardens checked all of us (second time that day the same wardens had done so) when the neighbor pulls up the driveway on a motorcycle full of piss and vinegar. There is a dent in the bottom side of the gas tank. He claimed that it happened during our dove shoot. When the wardens saw the "damage" they told us we were free to go and told the deputies the damage wasn't caused by us shooting....the neighbor claimed a piece of a roof of a shed had fallen on the tank after being hit with birdshot. They told him basically not to bother them again.
Fast forward about 3 years. My uncle is in bed asleep when he hears a gunshot and sees a bright light at the edge of his driveway. The neighbor had shined a deer in my uncles pasture and shot it....and was in the damned pasture looking for it with a spot light LOL. Uncle calls the sheriff and meets him at the neighbors truck....and watches as the idiot drags the deer back to the truck. They of course arrest him - he is shitfaced drunk so he goes to jail. Turns out he is the son of a man whose family had been in that county since 1840 or so....theres plenty of idiots in the south without the addition of those from other parts of the nation....

so what's the violation? They should be citing the violation, if not dispute it via the method they give..

I would much prefer living next door to 30 Mexicans than dealing with a single person from an HOA. How is it that a HOA is going to keep 30 Mexicans out of a neighborhood anyhow? What would be the issue with having 30 Hispanic neighbors? AT any rate they would be far less of a nuisance than any HOA ever. I would prefer living next door to registered sex offenders than having to contend with a HOA....

I suppose they’re just citing “public safety” because dead animal on display and scary bow and arrow.
They mentioned that spraying the blood off the driveway that goes to the storm drain is a hazard. I mean I guess?

100%
frick adding another layer of regulations and the Karens who enforce them. HOAs attract these psychopathic control freaks.

That’s wild. I assume y’all went back to business as usual with the dove hunt?

This is America and you have that choice. For a lot of people it’s a way to protect the value of the single largest investment they’ll ever make. On the whole most home buyers are going to walk away from multiple families living in a single house next door, or a meth head “working” on cars on blocks in the front yard, or the house with 4 foot tall grass, etc.
