Remember when they had shows tha were actually informative?

But I guess now they settle the debate there are packs of wolves roaming la....

That cryptic show has to be the stupidest thing ever put on tv about la....

Maybe it's a califonria plot to get their movie industry back...

Vikings is awesome. Everything else on TV sucks. Except Cosmos.

Perhaps, but it's based on a semi-real character and semi-real events. So, it's at least semi-historical.

I understand what you're saying though. Discovery Channel turned to shite a long time ago. All the other science, history, and learning channels have followed.

It can't be helped most tv viewers like the shite that is aired. I do like Vikings though.

I like the episodes that I know very little about. That way I don't know what's BS and what's not.

No kidding. Just look at TLC -- they used to have programs focusing on things like nature, science, history, technology, and home improvement. Somewhere around the turn of the century they distanced themselves from that and jumped into bed with reality TV idiocy and the Duggar Family and Jon and Kate mess.

Is there any difference between TLC, the Discovery Channel, History channel, MTV and A&E?

That's pretty much why I got rid of cable.

MeTV for the win.

I fricking love MeTV. I'm only 29, but there's something about episodes of old shows like Bonanza and Star Trek that I love.

What is MeTV? I have internet and a Roku. The cable company has finally figured out how to stop me from just plugging the cable into my TV and only paying for internet.

Now that TV stations broadcast in digital, they can squeeze three channels where they used to only have one. So now instead of just getting channel 2, you get channel 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 - all WAFB. With WAFB, though, 2.2 is 24 hour news and 2.3 is 24 hour weather. MeTV is often the NBC second channel (6.2 in NOLA), but in Baton Rouge it's an independent station 30.2.

Schedule

On week days they have what they call "Rope Opera" (instead of soap opera) and show Gunsmoke, Bonanza and The Big Valley one after another. They also show the Rifleman at 5 and 5:30. Late night they show the Twilight Zone, Perry Mason and then The Untouchables.

Unfortunately they show a bunch of Gilligan's Island, Brady Bunch and F-Troop crap.

ETA: All you need is an antenna and a digital receiver (most new TVs have one built in).

MeTV is basically a better version of what TVLand used to be. It has shows like (old) Star Trek, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Batman, Combat!, Newhart, I Love Lucy, Kojak, Perry Mason and old stuff like that.

Very similar to the demise of The Learning Channel. I remember years ago watching reconstructive knee surgery...pretty damn informative.

Fast forward to 2012 and you've got a fat little farting beauty pageant contestant and her Jabba the Hut mom.
