Keep deer in and you out.

Must be enrolled in the Deer Management Assistance Program.

Without more specifics it's hard to ascertain, but I gave it my best shot.

That's a new WMA LA just bought. Open to the public, just have to hop the fence.

yep, the State bought some 200" breeder bucks from Iowa and put them in there too. Also, you're allowed to hunt at night.

No need to risk injury, just cut a hole in it. But please wire it closed after to prevent deer escape.

Its near Global Wildlife in Folsom. Fence system looks old and not well kept. Is that an old hunting club?

Indeed, it is the old Zemurray Gardens...it used to be open to the public until 2005 thanks to Katrina. People in the area told me the Reimers family owns it now, and it was originally settled by the Joiners way way back in the day. There is a book called "The Fish That Ate the Whale" about Samuel Zemurray's banana farms and Zemurray's dealings in battling and conquering the United Fruit Company.

It's now privately owned and borders farmland. It's no longer a DMAP as of late-they just cut timber and hunt on it. A lot of deer typcially bust out of there to eat on neighboring properties during the winter as those local farmers (beef and/or dairy) typically plant rye grass, although they have automated feeders spread throughout the Zemurray property. I happen to know a handful of men who hunt out there.

EDIT: Yes, to answer your question about it being a hunting club, I just asked my cousin who's from the area, and he told me the people who hunt it live out of state and come down once/twice a year to hunt and are part-owners of it.

Two old, old, German families from that area. Reimer owns the land (which was a bombing range for the AAF during WW2) that borders our property along Turnpike Road.

My mom was a Joiner. My uncle hunted it for years up until recently. Not a whole lot going on there anymore but there have been some big deer taken off that property. Some damn good fishing there too.

Very good deer are still taken, but not as regularly as pre-Katrina. Brother-in-law was a longtime member until Katrina came through.

Yeah when I said not a whole lot going on there anymore, I didn’t mean there still wasn’t good deer there. Just that it’s not hunted like it was in the past.

I drove by there a few weeks back. Aren’t the fence posts precast concrete? If so it’s from WW2
