I cross just about anything I want within reason. Everything from Barataria to Pelto. We run them all.

Yep, my 18 Sterling has been to Last Island several times. The wind has kicked up to 15-20 when i was out there as well, I just buried the tabs and it handled it well, minus feeling like i just went swimming...

yeah, Which i would love, I've got a whopping 90hp hanging off the back right now gets me to 38 mph. At 265 pounds, shes light, compared to the lightest 150 (etec) @ 418 pounds. but it would haul arse!(touching 60 I believe)

Wouldn't be as fun to pole with a 150 but it would be fun as hell to drive.
The Cayo 180 with a 115 hits 60 which is what I'm shooting for.

I really am interested in these skiffs, I just worry that I'd want a bigger boat. Its just the wife, son and a couple dogs so I don't need a big boat. I live on the Northshore and really want to get back on the water.

It’s a great all around boat. Pretty much fishes like a bass boat, but is a lot better in the shallow marsh. The drawback of that is it doesn’t cut the waves like a bass boat would. ( even though at low speeds and tabs down it punches through them). But like I always say, if it’s that windy, stay at the camp and drink beer. The one time u get caught in some big wind, , you’ll live, just gonna weather through it.
I regularly cruise blind river with 3 or 4 people. It has a lot of room.

The one on instagram doing 60mph is currently for sale https://www.microskiff.com/threads/2017-cayo-180-reduced-37k.48854/

My little 173 will do 41 with two people if you put it to the dash. Here it is running 29.5 at 4400rpm with a passenger sitting next to me and a 15 gallons of fuel. At this speed it has almost 150. mile range. This was taken with the stock prop which I've already destroyed.

I just emailed Mel without salt marsh inquiring about the Heron 18 and possibly getting on the waiting list.

Yeah that’s outrageous to me, especially for a used boat that size.
