I have a pre-bluetooth ulterra. My 3rd or 4th remote crapped out on me finally. I'm not a fan of paying $200 for another one of these raggedy pieces of shite. Are yall aware of anyone who repairs these things? Sells refurbished ones for cheaper? I think I'm up to 4 broken ones now.

Glad you posted this as I am having to figure this out with the weather getting good again myself. Mine is Bluetooth and I was able to use the phone app but functions with that are very limited. Can’t even deploy or retract with it. Sucks to pay $200 for a remote and not even sure that’s gonna fix the problem.

The remotes are junk and it really pisses me off that minn kota elects to butt rape you on their POS remotes. There's no way the cost to them is more than $20 for this. Captive market though so F em I guess.

My foot control still works thankfully but just barely. It's a piece of shite as well.

Have two, lemme see if a new battery works in it and I will send it to ya.
Micro literally eats batteries and will not stay paired.

You may have some luck with the tech board, a lot of times the remotes for these things are fairly cheap Chinese components that can be upgraded or replaced. No idea how youd need to interface with it in some way though, and that might be the dealbreaker to DIY it.

It's ridiculous that such a wonderful gizmo is saddled by shitty supporting gear.

I'd appreciate it. I'll buy em from you.

I tried repairing one or two of them myself. I know a little bit about circuit board stuff but obviously not very good with them. One of them just needed a couple new buttons on the board before I got after it with a soldering iron.

When this one shits I'm getting a terrova. Nothing like being 20 miles offshore with your shitty self deploying trolling motor stuck down with a beeping error message because a shitty plastic spring arm broke.

frick an ulterra. I got a really good price on this one but still, frick em. I'd love a new terrova.

I bought one from bass pro and the fricker didn’t even come with a lanyard.

I love the Ulterra and wouldn't trade the convenience of power trim for the world, but the new remotes are infuriating. I had the 1st gen Ulterra and it fell off of my boat in the middle of Lake Pontchartrain (another story for another day). Bought the 2nd gen only to find out that the new remotes are basically like playing a gameboy and they're impossible to operate without looking at. You have to cycle through menus to get to the trim option, whereas with the first generation remote, there was a dedicated button. I called my dealer buddy to order one of the first gen remotes and then found out that MK made it such that the first gen remotes weren't even compatible with the new bluetooth motors. So frustrating.

I gave up and bought a wired foot pedal. The only part of my remote that malfunctioned was the deploy button so the trolling motor was completely useless.

It's the cheapest thing out of this whole operation yet costs more than 10% of the price of a whole new trolling motor and cannot be made reliably???

The remote control situation with these things is ridiculous. It's enough to make me want a different brand.

The foot control isn't a sure thing either. Let one big sloppy fat dude stomp on it and you might be finding out the speed adjust no longer work. Ask me how I know.

Post a pic of it.

I have two for a motor that crapped out and I junked. It was a pre-Bluetooth terrova.

If they are the same, I’ll give you both.
