Help - Springfield Hellcat - Front Sight popped off

I guess it actually slid off. Was at the range and I guess it slid off. I can see the guidelines for it. One of them is actually slightly raised to prevent it from going to far in the other direction. (Slides off and on the left hand side in picture below.
My question is can I just JB weld it or do I need to bring to a Gunsmith?
Best picture I could get off net:
Thanks - Dandy

you could use a punch to dimple one end once it's installed.

That's bizarre. There isn't much lateral force on it when you shoot so it had to be seriously loose from the factory. Unfortunately you can't add material, so you're left with the already-suggested dimple or an adhesive. If it's not rattling around red loctite would probably work (620 I think). If it comes loose you haven't lost anything, and you can always go back and dimple it. Get a set of calipers and make sure it's centered before you fix it in place.

hope you didn't purchase it from tractor supply.

Agreed, but you should also get the windage sighted in first.

Don't use a punch or JB Weld. A dab of Loctite 262 works perfectly fine.

They pop off more often that you'd think.
A drop of Loctite is all we ever put on them when I worked at the gun range.
I think Loctite red is "permanent", blue is not permanent.

Thanks all, gonna go red loctite (262)
If it keeps popping off I may do something more permanent (dimple it)

That's really disappointing. I've been seriously considering getting a hellcat. How have you liked it? Why other issues?
Feedback from anyone else about hellcats?

I’m happy with it. 8.5/10. Love the size. I have a big hands and it fits well for a micro. Only 2 issues to speak of:
1. Side pressure on trigger will “seize” trigger for lack of a better term. Have to put back pressure to unstick. Obviously an issue with a loaded gun. Some argue it’s a flaw some say it’s the way a true safety trigger should work. But straight back trigger pull is clean.
2. Both my wife and child (small hands) accidentally push the slide release with their hand while shooting causing clip to drop and a jam. The release is naturally where smaller index/middle fingers land. For ME it’s great; for them I would not recommend or, if their gun, would train them on finger placement.
Hope that helps - Dandy
