Cardboard target inside an old tire. Tire is rolling down the road while you are in the back of truck blazing away at it.

Now that sounds like fun...

You can go with Josey and I. The last trip we took was to kill prairie dogs. We had quite the reputation by the time we left Gregory, South Dakota

Sounds like a plan. We bid on the one at the CCA banquet Wednesday, but that was short lived price went up way to fast for my liking.

For fun we used to do something close to that. We would roll the tire down the levee shooting at the target but we were standing stationary.

I bought my AR10 specifically with a helicopter hog hunt in mind.

15-20 yards pistol training 60-80 yards for open sight rifle training. During this era of my life we were killing hogs pretty frequently from motorized vehicles and this practice improved our kill ratio quite a bit. Beer needs to be factored in if you would like to do it exactly how we did. It was many years ago and I do not advocate mixing beer, moving target, and firearms unless you are as highly trained as me and my bunch were.

Could you include a little info on the outfit that is heading this up. I'm sure quite of a few of the guys on the board would love to do this, myself included.

So I just talked to the guy who invited me. This is a special hunt. The land is owned by someone in my hunting group. We are paying for the helicopter service only and it is not a guided hunt. That is why it's cheaper than hunting on their land. The land is around Bastrop, TX which is close to Austin.

We did this on our place. This was back when you had to have permits and everything to actually shoot, but the guys were using shotguns with #2's I believe.

I'm jealous. Wanted to do this since it was legalized for citizens last year.

Bring the AR... And that's a damn good price.

The AR is plenty. I went years back with 3" buckshot for a 12 guage and it was a lot of fire power. Forty five rounds and my arm was slap wore out and very bruised. I'd go back with 2 3/4" buck.
