I'm originally from area and haven't caught wind of anything. I know the there is a bit of resentment among some of the locals that have been outbid on hunting leases from out of towners and their money. If you're local and are able to hunt in the area, its because you have access to family owned land. Not many earning enough to pay market prices for a lease on loess soil.

Yeah, that’s a shame that people would be that jealous and vengeful to burn someone’s place down, but I heave heard of a good deal of it, more so in Wilkinson than Adams, but that was not the case here, this guy owns quite a bit of land in that area, accidental fire last night , everyone got out but unable to save anything, burned to the ground, in the Kingston /Sibley area

Tiger paw,

I saw your post and about had a heart attack because I have family that fit your description. It was their house. They were lucky to get out, but everyone is safe.

Nothing fishy happened, just a freak deal.

Man, bad deal. Hadn't seen Mr. Bruce since the Reel Cowboy days. I figured when Brother Ray said he's been hunting up there, that's who it was. Hope you are good.

Yea I got a message this morning it burned to the ground. I grew up hunting up there with my uncle. Bruce and him were best friends. It was a beautiful camp. Thankfully everyone got out without injury. I hears it started from an outside fireplace and just engulfed it. Sad deal.

haha. I just knew the Reel Cowboy. I ran with BMA back in the college/post-college days. We had some great times together.

I fished on the Reel Cowboy with them. I don't remember the Sea Gobbler. Was the before or after?

Those type of burnings generally don't happen during the season. I remember in early 80s it was pretty common when the La invasion into Alabama and MS began - they would happen well after or well before the season. Kinda dangerous to pull that off during the season.

also happened here when the vietnamese started commercial fishing/shrimping.

Not the case in this situation, accidental fire, no foul play
