One gutter company uses wedges (which was what I thought the standard was) and the other said he developed a tool that basically bends the angle needed in the gutter while he's making them, so he doesn't use wedges. Any opinions on which one may be better since the prices are negligible?

the angel way would give you more flow/ volume as long as the downspouts can handle it. The wedges have the advantage of not being in contact with the facia, which stops moisture from being help, slowing wood rot.

I was kind of worried about the weight of the water being too much (over time) for the one without wedges, basically not having enough support.

There are specific hangers made for that fascia, they work and are worth the money.

When you say "hangers," is that different from the wedges?

I have the wedges on my gutters. I go through 2 cases of wasp spray a year to keep them out from behind the gutters. If I had the option I would definitely go with the gutters formed to your facia

They're round and go under the gutter.

Ok, just spoke with the guy that doesn't use the wedges and he clarified saying that there will be "more than enough" support because of the way he designed the bend in the back and also the hangers he uses and longer screws. He also mentioned that the the screws that are normally used in the wedges are too short and create a stress point and eventually come loose and sag over time. He's done plenty of house in River Ranch and on Settlers Trace and has never had a problem in the last 10 years that he has began using this design.

Ask him if he has a picture of the installed gutter so you can see what they look like...

I'd like to see a pic, too.

I have the wedges and if you ever try and paint the fascia around them it is not easy to get a good looking job.

The gutters are only going to carry what your roof collects no matter how big they are.

If you're in th BR area, you need to go with Ascension Gutters regardless of what technique they use

I used them a few years ago, they use hangers that are made for up north to handle the snow weight

Highly recommend them
