I put my mom's purple martin house up last weekend and she said the second day two scouts came by and flew around it for a few minutes but that was it and nothing since.
Has anyone had any show up yet?

Yes, there's another recent thread, and the scout site shows several south La. sightings. None in CENLA yet that I've seen.

I thought it was a bit early for them but depending on where you live it may not...I am still enjoying goldfinch and butter butts.
Not seeing any Robin yet either.

We have some blue birds hanging around a blue bird box I put up but they haven't nested in the box yet. Don't really know much about them. Need to look it up.

I saw a ton of them on a lake out in Walker the other day. The most I've ever seen.

Not in mine in years, had them thick for a while. Anyone have recs on a knew house? The one up there is custom from a friends Dad that has passed, hate to trash it but. 22' up, closest tree branch is 20' away.
Sorry for any hijack.

Not yet. Unfortunately the sparrows have taken over my house. Ive shot several of the bastards with my pellet gun, but they learn quick and take off before I can get a shot now. Anyone else have problems with sparrows?

I'm still a month or two out before the scouts make it this far north. I haven't had good luck the past couple of years, but I moved my house to a new location for this year. Crossing my fingers.

Pretty sure there were some around work today. Noticed the Robins showed up as well this afternoon.

Mine usually arrive late Jan, early Feb but no show as of yet.

An excellent website / forum for info. It also has the scout arrival map.
