I get delayed every time

This. But I'm never denied. Funny story. My buddy a always made fun of me because I Iveta or on a delay every time. He got straight denied the other day at Wal mart. But, he's not 6 guns in the last 27 days. I'm guessing that has something to do with it.

I have a TWIC card and have never been delayed. I do find it strange that a TWIC card is not an accepted form of identification. Or that's what I've been told at Cabela's, Bass Pro, and Academy.

TWIC card

Entirely different database than when purchasing a weapon. I can say with 100% certainty that the two are unrelated as far as this goes.

I'm not saying they are from the data base. All I am saying is that in my experience, having sold hundreds of guns, people with TWIC cards get delayed at a higher percentage than those without a TWIC card. This is not me bashing TWIC cards, my entire family have them

It's probably because you were around ascension. People in ascension typically work in plants and needed the TWIC. Typically people in ascension have been arrested.

No, uncommon name. I'm the only one with this name in the US.

I've been delayed a couple of times; the first time it really made me feel pretty bad (like I'd done something wrong). Seriously.

I talked with the guy at my local gun shop, and he and I figured out what it might be...
I once worked in a field where I had to be fingerprinted in an extensive background check (worked with kids), and thus I'm "flagged"- meaning I'm on record, somewhere, for something. That will pop up as soon as my info is given; most times the guy on the other end of the phone will (apparently) click on a few links, and after 5 minutes see I'm clean, and I get to leave with my purchase. Occasionally someone doesn't feel like taking that long, and thus I'm delayed a couple days (never been denied).

It makes sense, but kind of sucks that we'd be at the mercy of someone else's patience.

50/50 for me. Usually fixes itself in 30 minutes.

Walked away with gun in hand in most instances. Got delayed at a gun show once and got the approval call on the way home. Learned a lesson and have the LGS check the status a few minutes after the initial check. Has worked ever since.

Fairly common last name.

I've gotten two federal background checks, TWIC and X endorsement on my CDL, and I've never had a problem.

And a fairly common last name in South Louisiana.

I get delayed everytime. started about 10 years ago after getting TS clearance for previous job.

I know people says twic cards and clearances make no difference but that is not what i experienced.
