Anybody have good luck with these? They are currently running a coupon for their 4x8 trailer, it's currently $269, marked down from $350.

LINK

I'd be putting a small fourwheeler on it (about 400 lbs). How fast do these things rust out when kept outside?

ETA: this will be driven on the highway to the hunting camp once and then used on a gravel road to go about 10 miles from camp to public land.

I'm not sure I'd trust my 4 wheeler with a sub $300 HF trailer

I just bought a trailer, I avoided Harbor Freight, Tractor Supply, etc . If I am connecting to my truck and driving 70mph down the highway no way I trust a $300 trailer.

Buddy of mine used to have one. Only used it to make runs to Lowe’s or Home Depot near his house. I’m like you, I wouldn’t put anything like a 4 wheeler on it and take it on the highway, but for local roads going 45 with a stack of lumber, they’re perfect.

One of my friends used one to build a BBQ pit on and that beast is a heavy mofo offset smoker. As long as you keep the bearings in good shape watch the axles for.... nah, I'm with the other guys 4 wheeler belongs on a nice trailer.

I have been thinking of getting one for a kayak trailer set up. Does anyone have one they converted? How does it handle going 65mph?

Was passed by one like op wants west of Covington with a brand new Honda 420 on top. Mario Andretti had four bungee cords holding his $5,000 bike down driving 90+ mph.
I had my cruise set on 80 and he passed me like i was tied to a post.
Just member, those tiny tires are spinning why in excess of what your speed registers.

Buddy of mine bought one and when he finished with it wasn't a bad little trailer. Now what he did was weld it up instead of just bolting it together and add a 1-1/4 angle iron rail around the top of it along with building a rear ramp.

All total he spent more to get a "usable" trailer than if he'd just bought one with a ramp.

I bought the boat trailer in 2008 for a small jonboat, did some common modifications to the bunks, it stays outside, and nothing has rusted out. Hell, the tires aren't even dry-rotted yet.

*has never been used in saltwater*
*has never been used to carry more than 250 pounds*

I'll sell you a 5x8 with a 3500# axle on it if you want. I just sold my four wheeler a month ago so I dont use it anymore.

Thanks for the offer but I have a solid one already. I don't want to leave anything nice laying around outside the camp. folks have sticky fingers up there.

Just the idea that it is a "Folding Trailer" is enough information for me to not put anything of much value on it.

Whole community of people who use them to build mini campers and teardrop campers on. Plenty of them have been driven thousands of miles cross-country without any trouble. Just like anything, it will deteriorate faster left in the weather. It will be fine to use to pull a 4 wheeler to the camp and to the hunting spot.

They are fine. I have had several of their boat trailers for various duck boats over the years...never a problem. Keep air in the tires and install some buddy bearings and they'll last as long as you need them to. I don't think they sale the boat trailer anymore though....

I was in the market for one of these recently, but couldn't find one locally. I think they stopped selling them in Louisiana and Mississippi, at least in the New Orleans area. I bought a Carry-On from Lowe's for my riding lawn mower. I've only had it a month and so far so good. It was about $700 for a 5x8, and not having to put it together or make recommended upgrades it seems like a wash.
