Don't mean to hijack but I have been looking into the Springfield XD40 Compact for concealed but I just looked at the Sig P2022 since you mentioned it. Definitely a lot cheaper but how is it for carrying? I see that it is polymer and that is what I want but I don't know much about Sig Sauer other than most OBers say they are good..if they are so good why the cheap price?

I just got a Smith & wesson m&p 9mm and its amazing. And it comes with 3 different grips and 2 mags.

I've held the SR9C does seem to fit my hand nicely and is in the running but I don't care for the loaded safety feature. The thing that raises up when it's loaded... not sure how i feel about that yet.
do you own a SR9C? how do you feel about that feature?
I dont have the "c" variant, but rather, the standard sized SR9.
I personally like it just fine. I like the reassurance of knowing whether the chamber is loaded or not. It doesnt affect how I handle the gun but it gives me a piece of mind

Not cheap. Only the cheap model is the one Academy sells. Seems like it is a model made for a cheap sale. If I was to buy a Sig it would not be the model at Academy.

The best way to save money is to find a police officer, firefighter, EMS, or Military (active or retired) and get them to buy it for you from BR Police Supply. You will save between $50-$150 depending on what gun you get.

I own 3 XD pistols, I have never shot the Sig P2022, but I hear nothing but good things about them.
When talking about a pistol for carring I don't think the Springfield Compact or the Sig P2022 are the best of choice. Both are big both are heavy. I use to carry a Springfield Subcompact in 9mm. Was just to bulky for the type of weather and heat we have in TX., or pretty much anywhere along the Gulf Coast.
So I went and bought a true pocket pistol and I went with the Sig P238.

try the s&w m&p's or the SIG Sauer...HK's are the snizzle. Or even the Taurus 92.
All of these have very different grips and have 9mm models.

I have the sigp229, it is a great gun, and since I am of good size I have no problems concealing it when I carry it. I have the .40 but it is available in the 9. I have seen them used on gun broker dot com for the 500 range.

Went and checked out a few today and have pretty much decided on a Beretta px4 felt good in the hand and had one of the smoothest actions i've seen so far.
