pushing 20" , his ears being back in this pic give an illusion he is really wide. basic principal for measurement on a mature deer is when ear are in forward alert position on avg that is 15" wide tip of ear to tip of ear(some say as much as 16")

I figured he’s at least 20, if he gets harvested, I’ll make sure to bump this thread.

I figure ear tips are roughly 18. I’ll take 22.
I stand corrected.
eta: Boone and Crockett
The average buck, with his ears in an alert position, has an ear tip-to-tip spread of 16 inches. His ears will measures six inches from the base to the tip. The circumference of his eye is four inches, and from the center of the eye to the end of his nose should measure about eight inches.

I’m wondering if this is the same one from last year, if he is, he’s a lot smaller body wise.

ear tips are no where close to 18". Even on a big mature Elk its not 18" more like 17" range. Muley's are in the 16.5" range

I don’t know of anyone on our lease that does.

If you kill him, don’t get him scored with the buckmasters system. He would probably have a total score of 23”
