After an 11 year tour, this guy is exactly right on correct.
quote:

A generation ago, most wardens were hunters and outdoorsmen themselves. They were much more likely to handle your type situation with common sense.

It seems in the last decade or so (at least here in Florida), a lot of the game officials are just young kids trying to get into law enforcement and use the state wildlife position as an entry level position. So you have a good percentage of officers who don't hunt or fish so they have little perspective on matters. To them, an infraction is an infraction is an infraction - or, a dot on their monthly stat sheet.

I don’t disagree with you necessarily. You can thank Duck Dynasty for convincing every dickhead with a shotgun they’re a hunter.

There was this green jeans banging this gal in stockton bama she though she hit the jackpot because her boyfriend left her a 600-700 hundred acres of property worth about million bucks. But she have life estate and his nephew had use for hunting as long as he wanted so she couldn’t sell.

The section right next to forever wild and the river was only about 100 acres belong to friend of mine. it was part of original track of a family’s land and the dead guy tried to buy it but my buddy had searched for years from a good hunting spot 40 minutes from his hours. They ended up getting along great and became friends. They guy didn’t have any kids but was very close with a nephew that he treated like a hud son and they always hunted together, build shooting houses etc, would help my friend and let him use their roads and he did the same etc. One day he the guy dies, he was old, and the nephew tell my friend that they two were in litigation against each other etc over property and to be careful as she was suddenly banging a green jeans and he suspects that she is tryin to get his license revoked etc so she can sell property.

Few months later when leaving property after turkey hunt (unsuccessfully) we encountered two green jeans on they way to our truck. My buddy starts quizzing them and ask why they are on his property and you can see the color drain out of his face, he ensures them that he is going to discuss this matter with the regional commander as he suspects that they are trespassing without cause

My only confrontation with wardens:
Last deer season, my brother and I were deer hunting. I shot a doe just before dark. Picked up bro to help me load the deer on my 4 wlr. Didn’t have pen in my pack for some reason.
Got to the truck, found pen, tore the tag attached it to deer.
Pulled out on the public road and realized I hadn’t recorded the kill on the license. Didn’t stop because I’d never seen a warden there.
Naturally a blue lit truck pulls up behind me. I tell my brother. Well I’m getting a ticket.
2 wardens; 1 checks out the deer on the 4 wlr, says it’s tagged. I tell the other one as I hand him my license I had forgotten to fill out the record.
Warden pulls out his penlight, checks it, hands it back to me and says, “ Go ahead and fill it out. Have a nice evening.”

About 3 weeks later, my stepson kills a huge 20”. 8 Pt. I made sure he did the tags right. Driving home We meet a warden truck and he turns around and follows us. The deer is strapped to the wlr. Pull up and the guy steps out and says I know you!
We visit for about 15 minutes, he never checks us and drives away.
Good guy!
They aren’t all assholes.

I have had very few encounters with green jeans, but no bad experiences, have a friend who is now retired GW, when he was still working we would always tease him about writing people up etc, he would always reply that at this point in his career he did not even know where his ticket book was, and that someone would have to really be an arse or criminal or make him find it, and at that point he would be more likely to arrest someone than write a ticket
