Down in grand isle for a bachelor party, and looking to catch some fish. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m mostly a bass fisherman and no very little about saltwater. Thanks in advance.

Do yall have a boat or surf fishing? If you go to the bridge to fish at night, throw very small white grubs like a white crappie curly tail with a 1/32 oz jig head. If you need more weight to be able to cast, add a split shot about 12" up the line

You can catch crabs at any of the hotels or RV/hotel resorts in Grand Isle

Look up Queen Bess Island and El Cid... find a map with other smaller rigs in the bay

Beat the shore line with matrix shad, gold spoons, live shrimp and cocahoes... croakers do well if you can get them

If the tide is moving well, hit one of the passes

If that fails, get a huge rod/reel combo, cut up a lady fish into chunks and wait for a blacktip... always fun

I haven't been in a few years, but that's the basics as I know them

To catch crabs, go to Arties and bring home a delicious woman wearing dirty jean shorts, sweaty tank top and no more than 6 teeth. You will be blessed with an abundance of crabs you can share with others.

In a 20' bass boat with a 200, is it worth it to head to the rigs in the gulf within a few miles on the island? (Obviously given little to no chop)

I wouldn't
this late in the summer especially storms pop up out of nowhere, you would be in some shite in a bass boat.
but that's just me

I would strongly suggest no, but you do you.

I’ve seen plenty of people do it. Just keep an eye out for those afternoon squalls that pop out.

Well with all the water within the bay, what are some key things to look for? I'm not asking for spots, but there's so much water to cover in a short weekend. Obviously current, and rip rap banks are some key things but any local knowledge that I wouldn't think of?

Has it ever been in saltwater?

I’m here now with a bass boat. You’d have to had brass nuts to go on the outside this week and money laying around for a liver transplant when you got done

I wouldn’t run out to the rigs in a bass boat. No shot

Also, there’s no reason to. Fish inshore
