Since Monterey is close to Catahoula maybe a blind has opened up on the lake – these boys wont be having any guns for a while

This situation. Reminds me the of "call Sam " commercial in Monroe. Shows a guy digging a hole getting deeper in debt. He calls Sam the bankruptcy attorney and all is well. Best line:
" Dey wuz lookin fo ma CAH!!!"

Mr. Moreland bes be callin Sam!

WLF gets night vision goggles? I wonder if they have infrared imaging goggles.

I need to become a game warden.

I bet they have all kinds of neat toys. As long as we keep paying taxes they keep spending money.

Actually, I think they are 100% funded through license sales. FWIW.

This guy is infamous around Monterey for night hunting. He has done it since high school and will continue to do it until they lock him up. He also got caught on the Natchez trace with deer in the back of the truck a couple years ago.

How can a man stay up every night? He must love the meth

Yeah that went out the window when congress started the "state wildlife grant program" that is supposed to help fund state agencies to patrol non game species. I think Louisiana is in for over 10 million so far. The money is meant for the agency to implement conservation tactics but remember this is Louisiana

I normally have a slight disdain for the GJ, since I have legitimately been harassed by 2 individuals for the past 10 yrs or so, but these guys deserve some credit for catching these bastards. When we are talking about someone with a night-vision scope on a crossbow, that guy has probably had an impact on the deer population where he hunts. I know if I had one, and the time to put it to use, I could sure as hell put a dent in the deer population.

This reminds me of a story involving a horse and a boat, ironically in the Jonesville area.

approaching Moreland with the aid of night vision

They should advertise when they start using stuff like that. Just doesn't seem fair.

The dept of Wildlife and Fisheries is funded solely by a PORTION of license sales. They recieve no state monies for operations. The sad thing about that is with some proper funding the dept could really make some nice improvements across the state. Think of all the run down facilities and landings that we use and how much nicer they could be. If I remember correctly I believe outdoorsman account for the third highest revenue for the state. Think of all the money you spend on equipment, travelling back and forth, the little mom and pop stores close to the camp, etc.. It's really sad.
