Does the camera come with any software or is that something you have to buy?
What do you use?
What do you use?

Is that free, (sounds like it would be)or supposed to come with the operating system? I'm not seeing it when I search my programs?

My laptop is not fast enough to process Gopro videos. It's a problem. that said, Imovie is the preferred program around here

Isn't that what hat uses?

That sounds like it's going to be a problem with my PC.

what was happening is that the videos would skip and not edit correctly. The HD video was too much data for a 5 year old laptop to process. I'm now considering a macbook, but frick--they're $1300 and I don;t feel like spending that right now to watch crappy movies I filmed on a $250 camera.

I've got a newer (1 year old) PC. Hopefully it will work, because I haven't seen anything about the editing until now.
I would have thought gopro would have their own software included with the purchase of the camera?
It seems now I'm finding out. "Thanks for buying our camera, good luck editing anything." Love, GoPro.

I have a very mediocre laptop PC at home.
I've edited about 15 gopro videos with windows movie maker. It did not come with the laptop but it's free to DL:

Very easy to use, drag and drop, video trimming, speed up slow down, add music, easy uploads etc.
Just read this ^
have you ever used a computer before? jesus man

I downloaded it and I'm playing with some vids I shot on my iphone to get the hang of it. (My gopro comes tomorrow)

Yeah, and if some hardware or anything for that matter doesn't just work automatically like a phone importing pictures, they usually include some software to help facilitate the use of said product.
frick me for asking.

I don't have a GoPro but have a Sony HD cam that i'm working on learning editing with. Have heard rave reviews for programs like Adobe Premier 10, etc. but i've found out quick that it takes a while to get the hang of it. Probably just going to stick with Win Movie Maker for now. Youtube has a few tutorials that helped a bit

i apologize i thought from your previous statement of "good luck editing anything" that you've already tried and couldn't figure it out
-once you've shot a gopro video take out the memory card and load the data onto your computer
-from there open movie maker and just insert the video clip into a movie maker project and you can begin editing it after movie maker automatically converts to a workable format
-once you are done editing you should be able to then save the edited clip as a .wmv file that can be uploaded to youtube, or just saved on your computer
it's pretty simple
email me if you need more help at my username at gmail

Save the file to your computer and run it off of that instead of directly from your memory card. It should get rid of the slowmo/skip deal you're having. The same thing was happening to me.

Nah, I've been playing with movie maker.
I just meant like a printer comes with a driver disc, maybe gopro had their own editing software so you don't have to use some other companies product to use their(gopro) product.
I plan on dropping some cinematic drama on the Monday after teal season.

Nah, that's the good thing about them is they use a video format you can edit with any program
