Mathews has the frat boy, Yeti/Costa type following, but they make a fine bow.

Mathews makes really good top end bows.
People who own Mathews can sometimes be less than pleasant to talk to about bows.

Mathews Creed or Chill
QAD or Ripcord rest
Spot Hogg wrapped real deal 5 pin
Axion Gridlock Stabilizer
Mathews T series quiver
Blacks Creek soft case
Easton FMJ arrows with Blazers
Slick Trick Magnum 125gr
Tru Ball or Scott single caliper release
That's what I'd buy. You will have to go shoot different bows to see what YOU like. At the minimum try the Mathews, Hoyt, Bear, Bowtech and Elite bows.

Right around that. Some shops only sell their bows for MSRP, but others will come 150-200 off of that. Usually if you buy everything at once and have the bow setup the shop will cut you a deal on accessories.

Owned Mathews and bow tech. I'll stick with bow tech, although both make good stuff. Shoot em all and u decide...

Hoyt Spyder or carbon element

I love my Hoyt. My hunting buddy shoots a Mathews Z7, and I really like it too. The main difference is the grip. I really hate Mathew's slim grip. Doesn't feel right in my hand. Probably smoother drawing and less vibration than mine, but only by a slight bit. That being said, I've never missed a deer with my Hoyt and love it. Best rest by far is a QAD ultra rest. No matter the bow everyone I know shoots this rest. Site, stabilizer, quiver are up to you. Welcome to bow hunting. You may never rifle hunt again lol. I rarely do.

I've had matthews and hoyt. Both are great bows. If could get another one right now it would be the PSE DNA. Depends on what you want but get a 7 inch brace height and around 30 inch axle length with speed around 320 fps in any of these 3 brands and you will be very happy. Go to a shop w all 3 brands and feel them and draw them back. Get the one that feels best to you. Arrows are specific to your set up. I shoot gold tip with my Hoyt vector turbo.

Is nobody going to call you out? If you don't know shite about bow hunting (sounds like you don't), why not get an average bow to see if you even like it?
Dumb arse post.

Matthews or go home?
I'm very new to bow hunting but that's what I've been told by EVERYBODY. After shooting the Chill I see why.

I don't see what the problem is. If you buy an upper end bow and decide archery isn't for you most of your cash can be recouped by selling the bow. In fact you would lose far less money on the resale of a high end bow than you would on an entry level bow. Resale value on Mathews bows is grossly overinflated. There are used Creeds and Chills selling for more on EBAY than I would have to pay new at a couple of pro shops around here. Even on Archery Talk they are selling for nearly MSRP.

Mathews, PSE, Bowtech, and Hoyt are the big companies and all have some nice products. I'd also look at Elite, G5, and Strother.
If you are new to bows, do yourself a favor and don't go for the speed bows. Pick a rig that feels right and has a decent brace height (>7 inch).
Hard to go wrong with any of the brand if you pick what fits you best.

Go shoot several brands. I went in almost certain on a mathews, but shot the hoyt carbon element to be sure. Hands down I liked the hoyt better. Best combination of comfort, light weight, and speed for me love my carbon element.

I'd save that argument for another day
