Their called Buffalo gnats. They have an allergin in their bite. I have knots all over my forehead and ears too! Some people are not allergic to them but I sure am. Some call them bull gnats

Well, I've managed to avoid the Buffalo gnat for 48 years until this past Thursday.

Any reason they are so present now?

Those are too big to be gnats. I couldn't breathe by 9am turkey hunting in st Franny.

ETA: we started getting them in BR a few years ago, I sprayed enough to keep them down. But at lease they are incredibly bad, to point I may try cig to keep them away. Off doesn't work.

My old man said the flood waters bring them. They love buzz cut hair, too. my bald arse head is itching right now, they've made my eyes swell up before, too.

Heard of a couple people losing chickens to them, but i had them swarming me while I was working outside saturday and not a single one bit me. It was really weird to be swarmed and not bit. I caught several of them so they were definitely buffalo gnats.

I think the Victoria Secret spray is called Amber Romance. People swear buy it. Haven't had the chance to try it yet but will soon

Motherfricking gnats will pick me out of a crowd for some reason and tear my arse up. Seems to be usually around waterways but sometimes other as well.

The original old spice works pretty well if you can stand the smell.

Went bass fishing yesterday. They were almost unbearable. I was using garlic spray for my plastics when my brother sprayed some on his cap. frickers broke camp. Although it was a pretty bad smell to put with. But at least we could fish.

I thought I was the only one having this trouble, or that I was allergic to something. The bites swell up like a wasp sting and stay that way for 3 or 4 days. Ellic is full of them - I've got several that are just starting to go down.
F a gnat!

My wifes grandfather has lost 4 chickens so far. They are getting into their nostrils and suffocating them.

Something is different this year. I got a text yesterday from a guy, who is not a massive puss, saying he was leaving the course because of the gnats. We have never even had any out there before.

The last time they were bad was in the spring a couple years ago when the river had been high for a good amount of time. I think that flooding definately has something to do with it. Seemed like they got better a week after river went down last time

I use Skin So Soft sunscreen/gnat repellent and/or Amber Romance. Both work.
