All 3 Gens seems that they will all be within $20 or so. how do you choose when they're roughly all the same price?

I like Gen4 over 3 because I'm left handed. I think the Gen5 came out today, so no one has probably gotten enough trigger time on one to say its better. I believe it also adds and ambi slide stop which is someone intriguing for me.

The 4 mag release, rough texture grip, and changeable back straps make it hands down better than the gen 3. I am very interested to see how the gen 5 feels in my hand without the finger grooves. For some reason I am one of the only people who actually like the finger grooves. They just fit my hands perfect, but I can see why other people would hate them. I was planning on going to pick one of the gen 5s today.

Hey IGChris, did you guys get any in?

If you're left handed, the Gen 4 makes sense. If not, there's no reason to not get a Gen 3.

I wouldn't consider a Gen 5 (for Self-defense purposes) until it has been on the market for a couple of years. It took that long to fix all the defects/design tweaks in the Gen 4.

Well I've been wanting another G19 for a while now, but have been holding off until these came out. If I don't like it I'm going to get another gen 4. Are the gen 5s the same price as the 4s?

Love the gen4 over the gen3 for the simple fact it is more left handed useable. Grip for gen3 and gen4 i don't have a preference. I like to add the talon grips on the carry guns anyway

Gen 3 is perfect for me. I'm right handed. Not too worried about the adjustable grips. My 19 fits fine in my hand.

Do you know a place on the North Shore that has a decent selection of used handguns? Like cop trade-ins? I am in need of a used Glock for the truck.

Gen 3 - tried and true. 4 and 5 are answers to not very good questions, IMHO. I respect other opinions on the subject, but have never been swayed by them.

I picked up a Gen5 17 on Monday. So far I like what they did, the trigger is the best stock glock trigger I've tried. The lack of finger grooves doesn't matter to me, the Gen4 felt just fine. Other subtle differences are a higher cut under the trigger guard, the flared magwell, oem sights are a bit taller, no leaf spring in the take down tab, the slide finish is a little slicker.

This.

Id wait to see what problems the gen 5 has after the gen 4 launch issues. Though gen 5 appears to solve two remaining issues i have with glock. The sights and standard rifling.

Glock is rumored to be bringing back the smash hit that was the RTF Gen 3. Supposedly to be released in September, the fish gill fans everywhere have already forgotten the Gen 5.
