Sig is some very high quality shite, but both would be fine guns.

Of those two my vote is Glock. I think you are going to find that to be the popular answer on this board. Both are indeed fine weapons for your intended purpose. I'm not as familiar with the 2022 specifically but if its like the rest of them there are quite a few controls. These controls could potentially cost you valuable time in a shooting situation. Also, the 2022 is relatively new and whe sig sauer has a reputable name there's no way this pistol is remotely as proven as the glock 19

True, the Glock is time tested and durable

I have several Glocks and one Sig.
The Sig clipazines are as high as giraffe arse.

Go with the glockcant go wrong. Ever get tired of it and want to sell, would be no problem. Have a couple of them and sold a couple over the years within one day of posting ads. Actaully my oldest gun is the .45 and one of my favorites.

While both are fine reliable weapons, this statement isn't true in least.
The Sig is a DA/SA hammer-fired gun with a steel frame and a "decocker" mounted on the frame. It weighs a lot due to that steel frame.
The Glock is a DAO striker fired handgun with a polymer frame and no safety features of any kind.
I'm with KR in my displeasure for Glocks but they work and I can't deny so get it if you want one. But to say there is little difference is not true at all.

I was leaning towards Glock to begin with. The input in this thread kind of solidified that choice.

I own the 2022 and think it is a very quality weapon for the price. I'm a fan of the DA/SA option.
They have had versions of the gun out since 98 I believe. It's not low quality compared to other sigs it was just one of their few polymer pistols which is the reason why the price is low compared to other Sigs. Quality and reliability are very comparable to the Glock IMO. I believe the decision will come down to your trigger pull preference.

Well, I have had the Sig in .40 for a while and just bought another one in 9mm, so I like it just fine. This model has a polymer frame like the Glocks, so not much weight difference. I personally like the SA/DA firing, some don't. Trigger is good out of the box and is is low recoil and accurate.
I would not hesitate to recommend the SP2022 and it is quite a bit less than a Glock. Mags run about $40 from Sig.
